Will Norovirus delay my period?

Hi,

AF should arrive on Friday. My LP is 14 days, then I have period on 15dpo. But, I got norovirus on Dpo11. Do you think this will delay my period. I initially thought that if you're ovulation isn't delayed then your period wouldn't be, but I don't really know. Normally have lots of AF cramping about a week before, but can't tell because I'm just having norovirus cramps.

I know I'm not going to have my Bfp this month, but don't want to have a messed up cycle.

Any thoughts appreciated x

It's possible as it can put your body under stress but your cycle should return to normal as soon as your body is recovered from the virus.

Thanks. It only lasted 24 hours and I'm on the mend today and eating again, so hopefully it will just delay it by day or 2. Hope that doesn't turn me into a nut job thinking there is a possibility I'm preggers!

Thanks for your reply.

At 11dpo, I think the chemical message, whether or not there's a fertilised egg, should have been sent so hopefully minimising the chance of the virus causing a disruption with your hormones.
FX - IF af is late - then it's not to do with the virus :)

Glad you're feeling better too x

It shouldn't delay your period. Like you said, illness can delay ovulation but if that was on time you should get your period on time if not pregnant.

I just wanted to reassure anyone with a similar problem. When I got my BFP I was on the toilet 12 hours later doing er... everything which goes with a Novovirus - as was my husband. Apart from feeling vile, everything with baby was fine. :)
