Hi everyone. This is my first post but I would like to thank you all for the great advice I've found in other posts.
we've been ttc #1 for a year and I've just made an appointment to see the doctor but I'm not sure what to expect or what questions to ask. Can anyone help?

Hi jen. I had my first appointment last month after just over a year of TTC and I found it really useful. I wrote out my cycles for the last six months in terms of cycle length and estimated ovulation date (if you have been using sticks you might have an idea).

Also, my DH came with me which I think made a difference. Not because I needed the support or anything, although it's nice to have him there, but because then it looked like this is something we are both trying for and struggling with.

Doctors are all different though and I have read plenty of ladies that don't get offered much on the first visit. For us, I was offered a day 21 blood test and a day 2-5 blood test which check your ovulation and certain chemical levels. DH had a sperm analysis. I think those are fair things to ask for on a first visit.

Good luck! Hope you have a nice doctor!

Hello. I went recently after TTC for 6 months (I'm 35 and have a baby who is one that was conceived first cycle). I was breastfeeding. The GP ordered the blood tests at day 3 and day 21, plus I had a hospital ultrasound and internal scan on ovaries etc a couple of weeks later.

I was pleasantly surprised that something was done, incidentally, hence mentioning my baby, the fact I was still breastfeeding etc (but maybe it was because I was 35 rather than under or perhaps I was just lucky) PS best of luck
