Molar pregnancy

Hi all,

Just jumped off the June bus. I don't really know where to post, not sure this is the right forum.

Had a miscarriage in Sept. Then fell pregnant again without having a cycle. Then at 6 weeks I collapsed in supermarket last Thursday and taken to hospital put on a drip had a bleed and cramps. Cut a long story short on Monday I found out that it's a molar pregnancy, hormones are still doubling ever 48 hours, still have pg symptoms. But there's no baby just a tumour growing feeding from hormones. I'm going in to hospital today to have it removed this afternoon.

Have so many questions but had no one to ask. All I know is that I'll have to have follow up blood tests to check hormone levels and we may not be able to try again for up to 12 months.
We are totally devastated but I'm looking forward to getting today over with. We are blessed to have a 2 year old DS already which makes this all a bit easier.

Anyone had Molar that can offer advice and experience?

x

I did 10 years ago... I think treatment depends on how things progress - I ended up with chemo and then couldn't ttc for 12 months after that finished. DS came along after that.

Hope all goes as well as can be for the op.

Just wanted to offer my sympathy and hope things get better soon. I don't have any direct experience but a close friend has this a couple of years ago and everything worked out in the end and they had DC2 about 16mths later.

Take it one step at a time and hope someone will be along soon who can give you more direct help. Take care of yourself.

If you look in the MC/PG Loss section of MN im sure I saw a support thread for Molar PG. Its a wonderful section even if im wrong. A place I never thought to be in, but the support is fantastic. Look after yourself, lots of love. x
