TTC no 3? Anyone just started / about to start / about to start thinking about it?

I am absolutely not going to go nuts about it this time like I did for no 2. Because my kids have each other and won't be alone looking after their ancient parents in years to come. But a 3rd would be a bonus. And part of me doesn't care either way, and another part cannot wait for a lovely little snuggly new born. And part of me is enjoying getting my nights back, and my body, and is worried about the money, the lack of bedrooms, the need for a bigger car, having another miscarriage, or high risk pregnancy, a 3rd CS, a baby in intensive care. But then 5 months of no contraception and nothings happening..... The baby is 11 months, and we said we'd start putting more effort in once he is 1....

Anyone in the same boat? Want to hang out and worry / pretend not to worry?

Thanks for the responses. It's tricky. Realistically I can't see myself going for a VBAC but another CS does limit your future options a bit. I went into labour spontaneously with DS1 at 38 weeks but he was back to back (undiagnosed until cut open) and head very high which never descended, big head, small pelvis etc etc. Right - that's me decided!

bonzo77 · 18/12/2013 13:07

I think with modern surgery, the number of CSs you can have is not as limited as in the days of vertical incisions. Especially if you have a reasonable gap between them. After my last one I asked if I was ok to have another. The surgeon said "best to wait till you're off the operating table"!

Sorry to hear that for you too cake.

Yes yes yes to lots of 2014 bfps.

That's our NYE resolutions sorted then I guess..!

snowpink · 18/12/2013 20:56

Orange, totally on board with this New Years resolution !

I got to hold a 10 day old baby today! Made me feel broody but her mum looked a bit knackered so not looking forward to the immediate post birth period...

bumbleandbumble · 19/12/2013 10:00

has anyone thought they had trouble coming off birth control pills?

my loestrin makes me not even have a period most months and i am wondering when I convince my hubby for number three if it will take a long time to even ovulate…get periods back?

have anyone here come off birth control and got back to normal easily?

bonzo77 · 19/12/2013 20:44

bumble I got pg with DS1 immediately after stopping the pill, after about 12 years of taking it continuously. After ds1 I went back on it for 6 months, then off for 7 before getting pg again. After ds2 I went in it again for about 6 months , off now for 6 months and nothing. Though my periods have come back both times and are fairly regular. I'm sure it's different for everyone, and certainly for me, changes with time.

*sorry, by nothing I mean no BFP. I think I'm ovulating, and have done since cycle 1 off the pill.

OP posts:
OrangeFizz99 · 20/12/2013 16:16

I was on cezarette before dd1. When I stopped it I had six weeks, then a period, then caught with dd1 in the second cycle and got a bfp on cycle day 25 I think (likely to have been 11-12 dpi I think).

When I tried to go back on it post dd1 I bled continually and my gp took me off it.

stinkypants · 20/12/2013 18:16

hello
ttc no. 3 since August and period is 4 days late.... not going to test until a week late though, if get that far!! had miscarriage before ds1 and ds2 so not even thinking too optimistically... but a teeny bit hopeful!!

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 21/12/2013 13:32

Ooh good luck stinky!

bonzo77 · 21/12/2013 14:42

well, I'll be hopeful for you then stinky

Can anyone explain why I am getting occasional "ovulation" pains on CD5, and had them on CD3? Clearly not ovulation! Very short period and feeling like crap. If I didn't know better I'd say I was pregnant! I reckon I'm full of adhesions after 2 CSs, hence all the aches and pains. Bet its not doing my fertility any good. Oh, aren't I full of cheer today?!

have cheered myself up by ordering this and this. found a 10% off code, and tis free delivery and returns if they're no good.

Nice bit of retail therapy bonzo, always helps!

I was feeling like that when I was late, turns out one of the little monsters has a tummy bug so it was actually that.

Umm, stinky - POAS!!! What a lovely Xmas pressie that would be.

CD13 today, we have been did every other day so far this cycle so now important to keep it up for the next week! DH needing lots of encouragement at the moment, given thats it the only bit of the reproduction process he is needed for its a bit galling but there we go. In the name of dtd I even curbed my moaning about mil during the pils visit this weekend. I am an actual angel :)

snowpink · 23/12/2013 12:47

Yes stinky any news??

I actually had a few drops of blood this morning so either it's AF (which would be good, at least my cycles are back on track after mc) or an implantation bleed, but I don't dare being that optimistic. Either way it's good news.

bonzo77 · 23/12/2013 14:10

stinky, well......?

snow, I agree, good news. Though I have to say, the month my cycles went back to normal after my mc and erpc was the month I got pg with DS2....

orange good work DTD every other day, definitely agree that you need to keep it up for a week after ovulation. So to speak. God, in laws. Don't get me started. Mine are just intensely irritating and thoughtless, rather than intentionally horrid. Still avoid them like the plaque.

CD7 here, so need to start thinking about shagging again. I expect to be ovulating somewhere around NY. Which is a pain as DH has agreed to some ridiculous plan involving communal living, people I don't know, £400, a long drive and 2 nights with away. I said no from the start and he agreed anyway. So I've said he can go with DS1 (who is likely to sleep and enjoy it), and I'll stay home with the baby.

Evening allSmile

Ooh interesting things afoot with people's cycles. Christmas bfp's would be exciting! Amazingly, I am on cd3!! First one since giving birth to dd2! She's now 17 1/2 months, which means it's the first one in over 2 years! We can genuinely start think about a third. So, whilst I feel like poo, I am glad it's here.

stinkypants · 23/12/2013 18:52

Hello again...
Thanks for your interest! And... It's good news! 2 bfp tests. Can hardly believe it. So think that means I am 5 weeks pregnant.
am happy to share any details that may be of interest! ! Just going to read through the rest of this thread as only read the beginning and end bits so far.

OrangeFizz99 · 23/12/2013 19:06

Whoop whoop stinky! Congratulations, what a lovely Xmas surprise.

stinkypants · 23/12/2013 20:33

Have now read through all- thought I'd add a few details in case of interest.
38 yo, ds 4 and ds 3, 4 th cycle successful.
Early preg symptoms were/are:
-No spots when normally get them- in fact skin looking fab!
-Being intensely ticklish so when dh tries to be amorous I just laugh

  • slight nausea esp when think of food and needing to
swallow constantly
  • heavy feeling like period about to start
  • boobs big but not sore
-falling asleep on sofa Good luck to everyone, how it happened for us this month was just lots of dtd - daily for about 5 days! ! Not easy but just wanted to conceive before I turn 39 and was the last chance for that. Will be an August bday though, all being well.
bonzo77 · 23/12/2013 21:04

stinky Grin.

snowpink · 23/12/2013 21:47

Stinky woohoo!! Congratulations!! I hope it all goes well.

I'm spending the night in the fucking hospital with ds2, he fell off his highchair and needs to stay in for observation in case of concussion. I think he's fine and I'm glad it didn't happen on Christmas Day but still!

And dh forgot to bring me tampons in case my period starts!

stinkypants · 23/12/2013 23:42

Oh no! Hope he's ok and that u both get some sleep! Agree, at least not tomorrow night.

Mmmbacon · 23/12/2013 23:49

Well no visit from af yet and its officially 2 weeks for us, so off to the chemist with me in the am if nothing over night, might be a wonderful christmas present for us yet, af a bit irregular here, so g to get a fr test as I think they are most accurate for testing early, so should be able to detect a bfp two weeks after unprotected sex shouldn't it???

snowpink · 24/12/2013 14:36

Thank god ds and I are back home again I just need to get back into the Christmas spirit! AF arrived too properly while in hospital, thank God the nice nurse gave me some sanitary towels.

Bacon - exciting stuff! When are you going to POAS?

MissingMyMarbles · 24/12/2013 18:39

Wooooooohooooooo, Stinky!!!!!! Xmas Grin

Any news, Bacon?

Glad LO ok, Snow. Booooo for periods over Christmas.

Mmmbacon · 24/12/2013 19:52

Hi snow glad your little one is ok,

No news here, no af, but did buy a 3 pack of cb, weirdly the chemist I went to, (15 miles away lol) was out of fr tests so I was wondering how many people were buying them up in order to test over the holidays

will update with news tomorrow some stage, going to poas first thing in the morning after santa has arrived,
