TTC no 3? Anyone just started / about to start / about to start thinking about it?

I am absolutely not going to go nuts about it this time like I did for no 2. Because my kids have each other and won't be alone looking after their ancient parents in years to come. But a 3rd would be a bonus. And part of me doesn't care either way, and another part cannot wait for a lovely little snuggly new born. And part of me is enjoying getting my nights back, and my body, and is worried about the money, the lack of bedrooms, the need for a bigger car, having another miscarriage, or high risk pregnancy, a 3rd CS, a baby in intensive care. But then 5 months of no contraception and nothings happening..... The baby is 11 months, and we said we'd start putting more effort in once he is 1....

Anyone in the same boat? Want to hang out and worry / pretend not to worry?

Im due on Monday so trying to hold out till Friday/Saturday for testing. Im really bad for early testing. Got a line with dd2 on a first response at 10dpo so I know it is possible!

My boobs are tingly and painful but properly are normally anyway but I just never notice!

BunnyBaby · 04/12/2013 20:28

Bonzo - trying not to spot here too, but can't help it.. thinking is that more discharge, does my womb feel full.. etc.. etc.. It's almost like the wait for Christmas as a child but every fecking month.. Aaargh! It looked good for yesterday, hope you managed to action as appropriate?

Crumbs - My DH pretending it hard to perform but loving it really! TBH he doesn't get too many chances aside from baby making, and we both agreed going forwards we really need to introduce date night. I wouldn't be averse to calpol syringe if we were in dire straits (staying away / house guests) haven't mentioned, yet, giggling at the thought,, his face would be a picture! In our family too I have a cousin who married at 40 and had DC at 41, 43 and 45, so agree that perfectly doable :-)

Nordic / Orange - the suspense, fingers crossed that the magic lines appear for you :-)

My AF is due on the 13th so a while to go yet for me, and I try not to test until I'm 3 days late, but due to go to DH's christmas party that night, so may have my arm twisted then. Usually I spot the day before, so should have a good idea by the 12th..

bonzo77 · 04/12/2013 22:14

bunny. Yes. action completed. He's at the football now, but is going to get jumped when he gets in, any minute now.... All my ovulation discomforts have gone (pains, bloating, low cervix), so need to get one more last go in during eggie's 24 hour life span.. Oh that's him at the door. byeeeee

Obviously I'm not symptom spotting. But I have a terrible cough. Just like the one I had while pregnant last. Which turned out to be pregnancy- induced asthma. Just sayin'. Grin

OrangeFizz99 · 07/12/2013 00:34

Oo very interesting symptom spot bonzo! Haven't heard of that one before.

Think I'm out this month, tested this am on a fr and got bfn. Was quite hopeful as very sore boobs but hey ho. Want af to come now so that next fertile window might be just BEFORE pils visit. Not keen on the syringe idea myself!

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 07/12/2013 19:57

Sorry to hear that orange. We only managed it 3 times during this fertile period so I'm not that hopeful either. And part of me thinks if we can't fit in sex then we really can't fit in another child!

bonzo77 · 07/12/2013 21:46

cake I do sometimes think a baby is less effort than the sex.

DS2 was 1 yesterday. Somehow the first birthdays feel like they are a more important anniversary for me, than anything to do with the baby. A year ago I was hobbling between my hospital bed and NICU, trying to express colostrum every 3 hours. The DS2 had been off CPAP for less than 24 hours and he was just starting to be fed via his naso-gastric tube (having been on a glucose drip). The nurses all saying what a big strong boy he was (compared to the teeny tiny "proper" prem babies). He progressed quicker than expected, and coped with every challenge. He pulled out his drip before they intended to remove the glucose therapy and coped with taking all his milk via the tube and bottle, then when he had a problem with his tube he managed to take all his milk from the bottle immediately instead.

I digress. Kind of. Because there's a reasonable chance I suppose that we'll go through all of this again if we have another one.

OrangeFizz99 · 08/12/2013 18:16

Af due today and not here yet. Tested just now and got ... Bfn. Boo!

Welcome sea.

bonzo77 · 08/12/2013 19:55

Welcome sea.

orange you know you won't get a BFP unless it's FMU... Test in the morning? Wink

Claryrocks · 08/12/2013 20:07

Hi all,

Watching with interest. 36yo 1dd 1ds cycle 1. Thinking of abstaining this month so we avoid an August baby although think we'd be very lucky to get preg first month!

OrangeFizz99 · 09/12/2013 06:58

Have decided to use my second fr test tomorrow am if no af today

With both dds I got bfp s in the day before af due...

Anyone else in the results bit?

Hi claryrocks, that's my consolation, if I'm not pg then August isn't an ideal month anyway!

OrangeFizz99 · 09/12/2013 07:01

bonzo - keep forgetting to say happy birthday to your ds2. Hope you all had a great day.

BunnyBaby · 09/12/2013 13:52

orange - fingers crossed, perhaps you conceived later than you thought. I got a negative with ds2 as had to have a root canal, then got BFP a few days later

Bonzo - my gp said age not as bigger factor in fertility if you've been proven as fertile (ie had previous dcs), and more relevant if trying for dc1. Also age your mother went through menopause nay give clues. We have lots of 40+ mums in our family, and you and I gave several years to go to even get there. I'm optimistic for us all :-)

I've got 4 days to go till af (would usually spot in 3 days), and noticed creamy/Ewcm a few dpo, and for past 2 days creamy discharge has got more abundant but watery and a teeny tiny hint of yellow. Normally I dry up by one so trying my best not to symptom spot and madly looking into it all..also cat buried near my tummy at night.. We'll see!

I want to see a grad on this thread so good luck for those poas and fingers crossed for some sticky little Christmas babies xx

bonzo77 · 09/12/2013 23:14

Thanks orange. He had no idea!

bunny Both my grandmothers had their firsts in their 30's. My mum had my youngest bro at 39 (conceived him at 38), and oy really entered menopause in her late 50's. But our obstetric histories are so different. She went into spontaneous labour at 42+1 with me, induced at 42 and 43(!) weeks with my brothers. High forceps with me, sneeze births with my brothers. Me?! A failed early induction with a crappy placenta, a mmc that wouldn't shift for about 8 weeks after it happened, then another crappy placenta. I discussed this with my mum. She reminded me that I get my genes from my father too, my maternal grandma had 2 CS's in the 1950's when they were not undertaken even as lightly as they are now, and the pregnancy takes some input from the father!

Symptoms.... Where to start? Cough. Generous CM... I really cannot work out when I ovulated. Charting pissed me off this month so I stopped when I got I'll as it just confuses things. If I believe the OPK I'm about 7 dpo. Sunday would be CD28. I guess though if AF hasn't appeared, I could test a week tomorrow.

We are on the wait now, we have dd and ds the baby who is 2,
We are not trying but I needed a break from pill, dh knew this, we ended up having a big fight, didnt talk for two days and then had mad make up sex completely forgetting that I was not taking anything

Part of me is freaked out, god only knows how we would afford cc for 2, but ds would be only in fulltime creche with a new baby for a year or so,

The other part of me would love another baby, and the fact that we would find out christmas week has me hoping that I am,

I said to dh that I only realised that we went bare back last night and he.just laughed and petted my tummy,

Are we behaving like a couple of teenagers, we did get carried away last night, and I know the chances of us getting pregnant off a one nighter is slim, but it is still a big possibility especially when it took us only 3 months to conceive ds,

Feel like a silly twit, but needed to tell someone,

bonzo77 · 10/12/2013 13:18

mmmmbacon. Welcome. If you do get a BFP there will be some envious ladies here. On a more serious note, what would you prefer to happen? (Don't say if you don't want to). And if you don't get pg will you start ttc? Difficult to know I suppose. I stopped the pill 8 months ago I think, because I felt it wasn't agreeing with me. Still no BFP, yet.

OP posts:
OrangeFizz99 · 10/12/2013 13:25

oo mmbacon, don't know whether to say fingers crossed or not. At least you're aware of the possibility?

Another bfn this am with fr but still no af. Keep running off to the loo convinced its happened but zilch. My boobs hurt, like really stinging on and off and my tummy feels like its upset but both could be af I guess.

My mood is ridiculously good which is very weird as I get PMS for a day or two with af and for about a month with pregnancy :)

I am thinking not pg as bfn 14 dpo is surely impossible? Especially on a frer. Not normally late though. However being late not bad as would shift fertile window for next month to after pils visit.

I will stop the me me me now! Although, one last thing, I did just buy a three isofix seater car so I really do need to get pg again now!

bumbleandbumble · 10/12/2013 14:05

does anyone else have a reluctant partner?

I feel really strongly about wanting number 3, but my husband keeps saying 2 is more than enough and worries about money and about feeling so tired all over again…but mainly about money.

Yes we are in a very fragile money situation, I am at home, desperately trying to find a decent paying job and he is not making much.

But we are getting too old and I am terrified once we are more secure, I won't be able to have more.

My mother had early menopause…is it hereditary? does anyone know?

woodhj · 10/12/2013 14:29

Hi Ladies, posted last Saturday as TTC#3 and didn't dare do test in case negative.........well it was positive!!! yay.
Would of never of thought I was, was expecting to come on. So don't all be disheartened keep jumping on your man until the test makes you happy x x x

OrangeFizz99 · 10/12/2013 16:15

Wow, congrats woodhj! How are you feeling?

Oo bumble, thats hard, dh was reluctant but now if anything he's more into the idea than I am! I tried to help him see all the positives and how exciting it could be.

BunnyBaby · 10/12/2013 22:54

Just updated the list, so welcome also Bumble, Clary, Mmm and Sea!

So, so excited to be able to have a graduate.. Wood! Congrats, looking at your last post when you were late you must be about 6w along! How exciting.. how are you feeling? can you provide a run down of early pregnancy symptoms for us 2WW girlies? :-)

Bumble - Bonzo and I were discussing the fertility thing and it looks like it can be influenced by both sides of the family..

Here's to more BFP's, I think a few of us are due to POAS in the next few days.

Nighty night all!
