TTC no 3? Anyone just started / about to start / about to start thinking about it?

I am absolutely not going to go nuts about it this time like I did for no 2. Because my kids have each other and won't be alone looking after their ancient parents in years to come. But a 3rd would be a bonus. And part of me doesn't care either way, and another part cannot wait for a lovely little snuggly new born. And part of me is enjoying getting my nights back, and my body, and is worried about the money, the lack of bedrooms, the need for a bigger car, having another miscarriage, or high risk pregnancy, a 3rd CS, a baby in intensive care. But then 5 months of no contraception and nothings happening..... The baby is 11 months, and we said we'd start putting more effort in once he is 1....

Anyone in the same boat? Want to hang out and worry / pretend not to worry?

Wow - even more Congrats due! It's the thread to be on. Excellent news Clara and Orange.
Not so tired at the moment but fairly short of breath and racing heart. Palpitations is my thing Grin Also feeling the reduced caffeine intake and going to have to hide all the christmas chocs - I had gestational diabetes last time so want to avoid too much sugar.
Other than that.. feeling fairly nervous and uncommital, keep googling statistics. Fingers crossed for everyone.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 06/01/2014 11:35

Uncommital? You know what I mean.... we told the couple we were staying with over new year as they are really good friends and we didn't want any awkward questions. Except my friend's DP just didn't get it and kept asking questions like when are you going on maternity leave? Shock And despite the fact DP really obviously didn't want to talk about it - so are you hoping for a girl or boy? Just what you don't want. So now we're home we very definitely aren't telling anyone else and it feels nice that it's a secret again.

OrangeFizz99 · 06/01/2014 13:18

We're not telling anyone yet, will tell our parents in the next couple of weeks I guess. I reckon when you have two of one sex and are pg the 'girl or boy' gender pressure is going to be mental. Grr.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 06/01/2014 13:43

I know - dreading those questions! With 2 DSs everyone will assume we're desperate for a girl.....

OrangeFizz99 · 06/01/2014 15:20

Opposite here! I can here the 'poor dh, his world will be so pink, he'll need a shed etc' already. Yawn.

OrangeFizz99 · 06/01/2014 15:21

*hear

radiatormesh · 06/01/2014 18:09

I'm joining! Congrats on all the BFPs so far.

I have a 3.5yr old, a 10m old and we just started trying this cycle (although I'm still BF so my cycles are totally all over the shop and who knows if I even ovulated....). If I did, I reckon I'm about 2/3DPO, and am obviously already having symptoms Wink

Am trying hard not to obsess about it, but it's not going so well... Grin

Winterbluessummersoonish · 06/01/2014 20:02

Congrats on BFP's amazing news,

Orange- I am so with you on high chairs and push chairs etc - we did proper bed at 18 months etc - I love the toddler bit but baby bit is hard - I also have 4.5 and 2.5...

I was expecting an amazon parcel all day with a first response test in and then about 4pm I checked and it was still in my shopping basket, I was :( as was aiming to test in the morning.

I have ordered a clear blue which will come tomorrow afternoon, it will be day 27 so will test then and again morning of 28...

Really hope it is a BFP as want 3 and had a MMC last year, but this is looking like a positive thread to be on...!

BunnyBaby · 06/01/2014 20:32

Clara & Orange - congrats! Whoop whoop!

Just had an early scan today due to a few teeny spots of pink and blood, and have a very healthy baby in there, 7 weeks today, with a strong heartbeat :-)

Bonzo - how are you?

Love Bunny x

OrangeFizz99 · 06/01/2014 21:03

Yay bunny brilliant news, spotting must have been a hit scary though.

Is there a pg with no 3 ante natal thread yet?

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 06/01/2014 22:50

That would be good... had a quick look in the september antenatal thread (or it might have been august...?) anyway they were discussing the best bubble baths for mothers to be... No such luxuries for us eh!

clara85 · 07/01/2014 09:54

sounds like we all have similar small age gaps and 2 sons! told DH last night and he seems more accepting than I am, still cant belive it . Did a 2 year out of date FR test this morning and lines came up right away!

What kind of car do you all have? We will need to change to a 7 seater as will have 3 kids in stage 1 seats :( also startng to look at prams as we currently have the city jogger GT double and single which are excellent but I would rather have parent face and carrycot for the baby so may look at going back to the icandy peach x

Am i right in thinking one of you ladies also has had 2 sections?

clara85 · 07/01/2014 09:57

oh and need an update I think that 4 of us all pg?

?? I am rubbish at using this forum im much used to others which seem alot easier to reply on :)

clara85 · 07/01/2014 10:00

forgot girlsville :)

OrangeFizz99 · 07/01/2014 10:11

I have two girls!

I just got a Citroen c4 Picasso which I love and which has 3 isofix places so we should be ok car wise. Bedrooms worrying me more. Well have to convert the storage cupboard into dd1s room and make one big bedroom for the dd1 and 2 to share and then baby can have dd2s smaller room. Number three is much more complicated logistically and I can't even begin to think how we'll work childcare!

OrangeFizz99 · 07/01/2014 10:12

Also I have to do twice daily heparin injections when pg. should start then soon I guess-bleurgh!

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 07/01/2014 10:31

I've had two sections Clara. Planning on making it 3 I think.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 07/01/2014 10:34

and it was Stinky, not Bonzo.... though not heard from her for a couple of weeks.

inadreamworld · 07/01/2014 10:44

Feel like you OP, want a 3rd but v happy with the two lovely girls we already have 2.8 and 11 months. Not into all this scientific fertility charting stuff (too stressful) just regular sex and wait and see! Everyone thinks we must be desperate for a boy but I had a dream we had a 3rd girl which I would be absolutely happy with (may actually prefer as got used to girls now....!)

Good luck to everyone.

Squeakybeaky · 07/01/2014 11:01

Hi, I'm new here and ttc number 3. I have a 6 year old and 3 year old who I fell quickly with both times but who knows :)

bonzo77 · 07/01/2014 15:20

welcome to newcomers: I think I've missed a few as been off the radar for a while. Just usual stuff of busy with NY / school holidays.

looks like I've missed quite a few BFPs too while AWOL. Congratulations to you all. Summer babies here they come! I don't envy you doing the last month or 2 in high summer though.

orange how come's you are on heparin? I was on aspirin last time and it made no difference to the outcome (emergency early delivery due to placental failure). Pathology on the placenta showed no clots, so I'm hoping they don't put me on the heparin if get pregnant. Though I was told to take aspirin again as soon as I get a BFP.

bunny that early scan is magical isn't it? That little flicker which in less than 8 months will be in your arms. Bleeding would scare me crazy... i'm a BIG worrier. Did you go private or to EPAU?

Feeling a bit pissed off that I'm not pregnant, as this is the longest I've been without contraception for. Slightly irregular cycles. I really need to get my act together and chart properly, i.e. temps, to see if I am ovulating, though my cycles are regular enough to suggest that I am. Anyway, we are going for a strict DTD every other day routine from end of period to start of next. Frankly its exhausting!!! I'm sure that the last 2 times I was pregnant it was because we kept going after ovulation, which makes not a lot of sense biologically. I know that it'd be better if I got pregnant a bit later in the year for practical reasons, but whatever. And my SIL and my brother had their baby on friday. A girl.

clara no, definitely not pregnant! Though who knows, we've definitely made the effort this month and I suppose I'm in the 2WW now, AF due any time between next thursday (16th) and the following monday (20th). I think quite a few of us have had 2 sections, me included. I have a friend who has had 4. My understanding is that the more you have the greater the risk of uterine rupture (but pretty rare anyway, and more so if you do not labour), and of needing an emergency hysterectomy during the CS. I just remember it felt like it took them hours to open me up last time. I didn't have a good time at all with the anaesthetic either. I'd love a general but I can't imagine I'd get it.

I think we need a bit of a stats update. I'll do my best but do copy and paste and edit as you see fit. It's too depressing to put number of cycles etc in for me......

Girlsville · 07/01/2014 17:01

Hello all
So many bfps!

I have a 15 month age gap between my two dds. If all goes well they will be 4.7 and 3.4 when no 3 arrives.
I haemorrhaged after both previous labours so am nervous about that side of it, and that the baby would be due around the week dd1 starts reception!

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 07/01/2014 17:49

If you're lucky Girlsville!!.... many schools really drag out the settling in and stagger entry. When DS1 started reception his first week was second week of October Shock

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 07/01/2014 17:52

Bonzo - it will happen! Soon.

I feel so incredibly lucky this happened but still think of the things I can't do, or how many weeks I have left before I become incapable (about 1 I think Grin). So - focus on all the things you can do.

OrangeFizz99 · 07/01/2014 18:17

Bonzo - chin up it will happen! We dtd every day for two weeks this month continuing past when I would normally stop. You could ask gp for a check up to put your mind at rest.

I take baby aspirin and heparin when pregnant as I have aps syndrome and have had severe clotting incidences in my twenties. I consider myself very lucky to have found out before ttc no 1 and therefore on drugs straight away.

The injections are really quite sore though. To be on them when you're not sure it's your problem would really suck.
