Help me get some perspective on ttc.

This whole ttc thing is starting to drive me a little crazy. Analysing my cycle and every symptom. I need help to get some perspective.

I have convinced myself I don't ovulate otherwise I would be pregnant by now. Can anyone tell me what the likelihood if me not ovulating is?

  • My periods havd been regular as clockwork last 4 cycles 28/29days
  • I get dark line opks day 17/18 (internet cheapies) They have faint line from cd 15-20.
  • I don't temp because my ds always wakes me by pulling the duvet off and jumping on me which I think would alter the results and dp doesn't like scientific what-nots.

I had a scan at the weekend and right ovary and uterus clear (they couldn't see my left ovary for bowelHmm ).

We dtd usually around 5 times a week. I'm 24 and generally healthy byt overweight, I'm trying to lose weight but it's not shifting.

I'm just so frustrated this isn't happening for us. Although it's not been too long trying (since feb 13 but mc in June 13).

Hi wagga. I am prob not going to be able to offer much advice as I am still ttc 1.

I have regular cycles and opks show signs of ovulation so my GP has always said you can assume you ovulate. I'm sorry that you had a miscarriage earlier in the year but I think the fact that you got pregnant is a good sign that you are ovulating.

You prob know it already it can take healthy couples up to 12 months to get pregnant. Me and DH have passed this mark and initial tests have come back clear. We are just trying to stay positive and hopefully it will happen for us soon.

Read around the forum, there are some really good tips and some great support on these forums.

Good luck x

Morning both :)

I'm in the same boat, TTC since March now but nothing :( GP won't do anything until end of the year and I'm struggling to understand why nothing's happening. I have the CBFM and do seem to be OV'ing but sometimes quite late, for example I'm now on CD13 and no high reading yet.

Wagga, has your GP been helpful? I hope they are encouraging - I've seen one nice one and one not so great!

Fingers crossed for all of us. Usually it doesn't bother me so much but today I am quite tearful about it! X

Have been in your position. I threw the ovulation tests out, stopped obsessing over timing, and adopted a que sera sera approach. Got pg first month of not stressing about it Smile

I'm not trying to diminish anyone's efforts who has been trying for ages, because I can imagine that for someone who has been trying for a couple of years, being told to relax would be the most patronising thing ever. But you've not been trying too long, so it's worth a try.

You could try temping in your vagina? Not exactly the first thing you want to do in the morning, but if you have an enthusiastic dd then I think it's more reliable. You could whack it there whilst he's jumping? He'd never know. As for DH, taking your temp is hardly scientific and if he's ok with your poas, there's not much difference. My DH is a little bit like yours, but I just did it when he still had his bloody eyes closed….he takes about 20 mins to come round in the morning!
My experience - I spent couple of months poas and had same worries for you. Took temp orally for one cycle then when there was a spike I ditched it. Therefore I only actually took my temp from CD3 to CD17, which wasn't too bad. I didn't even do it until the end of the month because I didn't want to start obsessing over the graph….
Good luck to you x

Hi there. We TTCd for a year after my mc after having conceived after a few months the first few times. It was really stressful and I felt sad a lot of the time. I went through a period of charting, a period of using OPKs and then gave up both (the OPKs showed a dead regular cycle so there didn't seem any point). The last few months we just tried to DTD often throughout the month and then every other day or so over the last few weeks of my cycle when I'd be ovulating. That did the trick in the end and DD2 is 6 months old now. I found all the charts etc. just made me more stressed, and I tried to focus more on doing destressing things in the end. I hope you can find a way to cope with it all.
