How long until cycle back to normal after the mini pill (cerazette)

I stopped taking cerazette 4 weeks ago now to get my cycle back on track to ttc#1 and still haven't had any bleeding at all. I'm just interested to hear from others about their experiences to figure out how long it should take on average (I.e. What's "normal")

I've heard it can take a year, possibly even two(!!) but I'm hoping these cases are extremely rare.

It took about 3 months for me to have a normal period again after stopping cerazette.

I stopped 6 weeks ago and nothing yet :-(

Thanks. In a way I'm glad I'm not alone but I wish everything would just hurry up. I'm so impatient!

I stopped on the 7th of September. Finally had what I think was AF on Halloween. Now waiting on the next step.

Angelina77 · 04/11/2013 09:02

I had my first period within a week of stopping. I had only been taking it for about 6 months though so not sure if that affects things?

Hi. I too was on Cerezette until 19th September, I took that pill for about 18mths and I didn't have a period at all during that time. I didn't have a withdrawal bleed but then I had very light bleeding which started 19th October (it was more spotting really but lasted about 5-6 days) I did test just in case it was implantation but bfn. I know how frustrating it is not knowing if you're ovulating but since finishing the pill I've read loads on here and other sites about other ovulation signs like your cervical mucus etc. I'd recommend keeping a diary and putting down any symptoms you have, or lack of symptoms. Before the pill I was pretty regular and had light periods so I'm hoping its the same now. I've been keeping a diary for a few weeks now and I've noticed ovulation signs (cramps, ewcm and achey joints) I think af is due 16th Nov if my cycle is back to 28 days but I hope I've DTD enough to prevent that! I've read some horror stories about ttc after cerazette but also stories of people getting a bfp within weeks so try to relax (easier said than done) Good luck x

I was on cerazette. I stopped on 2nd June, AF arrived 29th June. I am now 18 weeks pregnant.

Hope it returns for you soon.

rosiegal · 04/11/2013 17:14

Hi Penguin thats wonderful news, congratulations. I hope I'm as lucky as you xxx

ThedementedPenguin · 04/11/2013 20:32

Rosiegal I hope so too.

When I was due to stop I looked up about it and thought I'd be TTCing for ages. Was a real shock when it was first month.

Big congrats Penguin. We're going to start trying properly in the new year so hope we're as lucky as you. I'm going to try and relax. I found some cheap OPK tests on amazon so might invest in those to give us a helping hand, they're about £8.50 for 50.

I was on cerazette for about 9 months. Came off in mid August and got bfp this week. Though it would seem that I am already 5-6 weeks gone. I had tested earlier and got bfn, then got what seemed like af but must have been implantation. Only reason I tested again this week was as I had been feeling really nauseous, gone off all my favourite foods and boobs are hurting like never before!!!

GnomieGrace · 08/11/2013 21:35

I stopped taking Cerrazette on May 15th TTC#1 i had a small withdrawal bleed then cycles 82 days, 19 days, 31 days and now on cycle day 46 so my cycles are pretty much still messed up and I came off 6 months ago. I was on for 3 years but it is ridiculous I have read cases similar to mine, it's the devil pill!

Not to scare you, but in light of what I wrote earlier. I was diagnosed yesterday as not being able to ovulate on my own as well as having hormonal issues and am now being sent to a Fertility Clinic for further help. Never had issues before Cerazette!
