Periods after being on the pill?

Hey,

Got a really random question, have come off the pill very recently to TTC for the first time. I have been on the pill for 10 years, but had my periods for 6 years previous, they were hell! 7 days solid with no let up, bad cramps etc. What's the chances they'll go back to that? I'm hoping they don't and my body gives me a little bit less stress when TTC!! Thanks xx

The pill leaves your system very quickly after taking the last tablet.

If they do start to become painful and or heavy again (it may well do so) then seek medical advice asap. If the GP is at that time clueless as to why this is happening (and there is always a reason why) then ask for a referral to a gynaecologist.

I would also start to keep a pain and symptom diary if and when they start to become heavier and or more painful. This would also give the gynae clues.
