Has anyone had funny pains like this and if so what are they? I took my last pill 3 weeks ago and I am not sure what these pains are, does anyone know? Don't worry not expecting to be expecting already, just curious!

it could be your ovaries cramping to prduce pregnancy hormone - so you could be pregnant. I had those pains in my first pregnancy and before I tested, although not in my second. Good luck!

it could also be that you are ovulating, if you've not ovulated for a while as have been on the pill then it can be more painful, also could be your body preparing for af.

Thanks ladies, both theories sound good to me! I opened a bottle of white wine the other night and it smelt awful and I was so excited as thought my sense of smell might have changed and therefore I could be pregnant but the wine was just corked!!

I'm so glad you posted that, I came off the Pill just over two weeks ago and have been getting cramping pains in my lower sotmach especially on the left hand side and I wondered what these were too.

I have also been feeling really tired and just generally a bit down does anyone know whether these are normal side effects of coming off the Pill?

MrsMcJnr · 07/07/2006 12:35

That's funny, now that you mention it, my pains are mostly on the left too but they seem to have calmed down a bit over the last day or so.

I am feeling tired and a bit down too Nicki10 but had put that down to post honeymoon blues but I guess it could be hormones couldn't it? Poor body must be wondering what on earth is going on!

Hope the prospect of the weekend makes you feel better, the sun has certainly cheered me up!

Just shows how addicted our bodies are! I don't think my body knows whats going on! Hopefully it will only last a few more days.

Thanks MrsMcJnr, I work on saturdays so i'm not that excited about the weekend and it's raining! But I'm hoping that Sunday will be lovely

I also have funny cramps, like period pains but milder think it might be around the time my body wants to ovulate.

Nicki10 · 08/07/2006 13:34

Hi MrsMcJnr good news I've just been to Books Etc and it's says these cramping pains are all normal and it is our bodies preparing to OV.

It also said the first time after coming off the pill is often more painful than normal. Good news it also said that many women have higher fertility rates during their first month off the pill and that it declines after you first natural period!. So thats me sorted it's twice a day now for me for the next 10 days! Here's hoping we won't see AF for nine months

coggy · 08/07/2006 15:47

I have cramping pains like these often.....

.....but I think mine is just wind!!!

bubblez · 08/07/2006 16:05

Hiya,

I think that the fact the pains are mainly on one side makes it quite likely that it is OV pains. I get this every month (alternate sides though) around the second week of my cicle.

MrsMcJnr - if your in your thrird week maybe it is period pains.. fingers crossed that it isn't though.

Nicki10 · 10/07/2006 10:38

Hi Please do tell me to shut up if you want and I think I am being ridiculous but these cramping pains which I was please to get as it means that I probably am OVing have now changed.

I am now getting a pulling like pain right in the bottom of my stomach and it has moved from being on the left side to the bottom. When I stand up it pulls and the same happens if I cough or go to the loo. So i'm now scared to go to the gym incase I rip anything!. Does anyone know what this might be? Sorry if i'm being stupid

coggy · 10/07/2006 19:11

Nikki - is it bad enough to get it checked out by gp?
It'll be worth it if it stops you from worrying.

I had similar on day 14. Couldn't stand up straight for most of the morning. Dragging feeling low down with an achiness all round the middle. I get that feeling that going to rip when sneeze and cough about a week B4 AF. don't know what it means, just ignore it now cos used to it!

If lasts more than a day might be an idea to get it checked out.

Nicki10 · 10/07/2006 20:01

Thank you everyone

I think I will stop worrying and just go back to the gym, I was just a bit worried that if I was pregnant that I might cause a M/C but as I don't think i've OV'd yet i think i am being stupid.

I'm very naughty Coggy and haven't got a doctors as we moved and I never got round to it and now I'm in London and my doctor is in the Cotswolds! Something I must do!

Sexonlegs · 10/07/2006 22:06

Can I join this one briefly. Last night I had a strange feeling on the right hand side of my tummy button - not a pain as such, just as if something was in there and then had spotting this morning. Cannot see it being implantation as only ov's a couple of days ago. Strange eh.

MrsMcJnr · 11/07/2006 11:07

Hello ladies, I was reading up a bit on the pains too, so annoying that they could mean as many things that mean you are pregnant and as many that mean that you are not, the good thing is that something is happening I suppose!! Off to buy a thermometer at lunchtime to start taking my temp, trying the other methods too just to try an understand my body a bit better. Hope all your pains are for the right reasons and that you are all ok
