Finding out how your cycle works when you come off the pill?

Hi, I need some help. I have read about the different ways to chart your fertility and am wondering from when I should start counting if I have just come off the pill. Should I wait for AF and start then? (even though I suppose I could fall before then). Any advice gratefully received.

When i cam eoff the pill I waited until I'd had my first "non-pill" period before we started "trying" - means you have a 'proper' date of last period to date any pregnancy with...
I started keeping track of what was happening when around tat time too...gave body a chance to get back to normal before trying to spot any trends!

Thanks JessaJam, bit concerned that that might be ages though. Got a real shock about 10 years ago as came off the pill, AF never arrived and whilst I was very careful and took precautions, I was all of a sudden 10 weeks pregnant and only found out because coffee made me sick every day for a week and I got suspicious! Mind you, I was only 22 then and probably a lot more fertile.
