This is only, to be fair, our 2nd cycle of TTC. AF is due on Friday so thought I'd do a First Response kit and got a BFN this morning :( I was so sure I was pg this month - felt sick and faint and have been in bed every night by 9pm feeling exhausted which is really unlike me. Anyone got positive vibes to spare?

hey lessons, chin up. It can take a while to get to know your cycle, when you ov, and there are an almost infinite number of factors at play, some of which we know about and some of which we will never know! I felt the same very early on with TTC, it seemed as though all my friends got their BFPs without really even trying, but coming on here is great because you realise that all that's happening in private! Here everyone shares, there's tonnes of support and positivity, even when you're feeling down. So get on a bus, take a look at all the stories, decide what's right for you in terms of getting to know what's happening (temping, using opk's, SMEP), and try to see it for the positive experience it can be. All this trying should eventually lead to something! Here's hoping it's your BFP!! FX for you
xx

Thanks Flymo. I'm using OPKs and have just downloaded SMEP which seems very sensible! But what is a bus? xx

hi lessonsintightropes I agree with flymo you just don't realise all the things people go through TTC until you start yourself! I had an early mc a couple of weeks ago and when I began speaking to people about it I heard so many stories about TTC madness, charting, obsessive checking of cm, chemical pregnancies, mc etc and all from people who I'd thought just popped up with BFP with almost no effort!

You are not in this alone, there are so many people here who know how you feel, who understand that skipped-beat your heart does when you feel queasy in/around the 2WW, who will cheer you along as you POAS for the 5th time in 2 days looking for the BFP.

I'm sending heaps of positive vibes your way!!

Hi there. I'm now in cycle 4 of ttc and have decided to chuck out my opks and stop obsessing because it's been driving me crazy (as the ladies on here will tell you). Last month I had sore boobs, nausea, bleeding gums, upset stomach and early cramping.... but wasn't pregnant. So all I can say is, try not to symptom spot or get too worked up if possible! Good luck!

Karmalaa · 23/10/2013 13:44

Hi vjones OPKs were driving me crazy, i never really got a line and spent endless days trying to find the right time of day to test! Not doing them anymore, still temping (just started again really) and checking cm but chucked away the OPK.

lessonsintightropes · 23/10/2013 14:21

Thanks Karmalaa and VJones... I'm just getting back to normal after 7 years of mirena so my cycle is a bit up the spout, so am trying the OPKs just til I get in the swing of things being hormone free. See you on the November bus :)

Another message just to say you are not alone in the "going slightly mad with suspected symptoms" 2WW phase. I am in Cycle 4, 2 fairly certain not preggers episodes, 1 it could have gone either way and 1 absolutely 100% convinced (nausea, shattered, nipple issues) until blooming AF arrived.

Do you know what though? It WILL happen for us, maybe not immediately, but when our bodies are ready. And that BFP will be AWESOME!

HalfPintLulu · 23/10/2013 15:35

if you're not due on until Friday, it's not over until AF arrives! Sometimes those early tests don't always work for some people :)

lessonsintightropes · 23/10/2013 23:56

Mean ole Auntie Flo arrived completely out of the blue about three hours after I posted this! So I got my cycle wrong too, it's a little bit out of whack after 7 years of Mirena, and come back with a vengance she did too! Oh well, signed up to the November bus :) And lepetitpoint I am glad it's not just me, feel a bit nuts! Our BFPs will come and they will indeed be awesome :)
