Nexplanon removal, pcos and return of cycles?

I had the nexplanon implant for 2.5 years and decided to remove due to side effects. It was removed nearly 22 weeks ago and i have had 1 af since, 12 weeks after removal.
I was diagnosed with pcos about 10 years ago when my cycles became very long and after an ultrasound it was confirmed. My cycles returned to every 35 days after I came off the pill 6 years ago and I now have 2 dc, 1 with no help and 1 after a month of metformin.
We would like to ttc again but due to the lack of af it is proving difficult. I have been given metformin again but over than upsetting my stomach i'm not sure if it is doing much.

If you have had the nexplanon removed, how long did it take for your cycle to return to normal? Does anyone have any advice on how to get my cycle back on track?
Thanks.
