OPK...anyone tried the saliva tests?

OK just looked at eBay for some OPK tests and I'm so confused! So many different options including a saliva microscope...really?! Just when I thought I had a handle on this TTC malarkey I've ended up more confused than ever! How many sticks do I need? Anyone got any advice? I'm a newbie, on cycle 2 since coming off 15 yrs on the pill and want to get to grips with my cycle before TTC.

Yup tried a salivary microscope, didn't work for me, no ferning all cycle! so I'd say don't bother. Urine OPKs are worth a go once you've got an idea of your cycle It often takes several months for your cycles to settle down and become predictable once you come off the pill, so don't panic if they're not regular yet!

if you want to get to grips with your cycle, there's heaps of info on the fertility friend website about monitoring changes, and also taking charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler is really good! I relied on changes in my cervical mucous and basal body temperature (bbt) to predict ovulation and know when ovulation had occurred.
