Well, we are home. Had a completely sleepless night with over 11 hrs of contractions, they got so bad I was crying Then it all just stopped! They were going to induce us, but dh and I decided that it was better for the baby to let nature take it's course and so we came home to wait for things to start up again. Am 3cm dilated, and lost my plug too this afternoon, so am hoping it doesn't take too long!
Am wondering how long it normally takes after losing plug? A friend said I should expect waters to go next, but I think if that happens then everything will go extremely quickly...
Thanks for all your thoughts, and sorry to disappoint today! We are a bit sad that we don't have our baby in our arms already but think we have made the right decision for our baby.

Glad you are home safe and sound Shroom. I think it can be a few days between losing your plug and going into labour but I never noticeably lost mine so I could be talking rubbish.
Either way you really need to rest up because you must be exhausted after last night and it doesn't sound like it will be long til the baby is in your arms. This one is clearly a wee monkeybum winding you up like that!

Shroom with ds2 my plug went and he was born within 4 hours, the mw still had to break my waters though.
I think, like most things, it will vary from pregnancy to pregnancy xxx

Aaah I can't believe I missed the excitement! Glad I didn't miss the actual event though :) sorry it was a false alarm shroom and you've missed out on sleep because of it...but I think you're right to wait a little longer...induction does statistically mean an instrumental delivery is more likely.
Hope the next time it's for real though! Definitely a good sign about the mucus plug!

As for all of you going on about number 3 for me - we definitely want more babies (if we can)...but probably not yet. I'm enjoying the boys loads at the moment and just don't want to go into the baby blur just yet...

moon aw my boys were both like that too - head control and really alert so early on (I always say I never had newborns, they just really weren't newborns!) rolling/crawling early... you're in for some fun - so lovely to read about your little J getting his character though. Just amazing to watch them grow isn't it!

Still same same here… Bump pretty sore, still having contractions that are a tiny bit more painful today but not enough to stop me doing anything. I just want things to start up again and to meet our little baby!! I cannot bear the waiting!

Yes..bounce bounce on the ball...walk up and down stairs a lot..book some acupuncture (though my acupuncturist said the treatment works best if already overdue so I won't wish that on you!!)
