Question re implantation and internal scan....

Hello all, quick question for anyone in the know. I've just been sent an appointment for an internal scan for Saturday this week (non pregnancy related) and wondered if it could or would possibly disrupt implantation?

I think I have recently ovulated and wanted to know if I should cancel h scan for a few weeks?

The scan, in my eyes in not urgent - to rule out an ovarian cyst - which I'm pretty certain it isn't, most likely IBS symptoms.

I'm just worried if I go in the next week, it may prevent implantation of a possibly fertilised egg!

No I would say no with confidence.
the "wand" thingy only goes in an inch or so.

I've had lots, never made any difference physically to conception.
Bit uncomfortable when they look at ovaries as they move it from side to side. Not too bad though. Smear tests more painful imho.

I'm having an internal ultrasound scan in two weeks as my GP suspects that I have an ovarian cyst too. I agree with jimijack that it will cause no problems as I was told by my GP that they can still do it even if you think you may be pregnant as it won't interfere with anything.

Oddly enough, I've had a IBS symptoms for a while which may be separate or linked with an ovarian cyst. Have you had any other symptoms? I've had loads which confuse me in my 2ww if it's PMS or early pregnancy signs, really frustrating!!! Good luck and keep me posted how you get on.

They do these in early pregnancy all the time. I don't think you need to be concerned.

I had to have an internal one recently because I've got a cyst. Don't think it goes as deep at dtd Blush. But why not have a chat with them? Don't know about you, but mine was done on gyno wing where I'm sure they'd have known the answer. Good luck!

skyblue, had my scan today and there were no signs of a cyst at all, ovaries look normal and healthy. Which means ALL my symptoms are IBS related. (Feel like PMS/ pregnancy symptoms though so will be even more confused during my 2ww and trying not to symptom spot too much, which is impossible!) Quite pleased though as this means we can carry on TTC without too much worry! Hope your scan goes ok too, let me know how you get on.

That's great news lulu,it must be such a relief and that you can crack on with ttc! I hope I get the same good news.

I can completely emphasise as the 2ww is a nightmare due to conflicting symptoms. I'm due AF next week so have tried not to symptom spot like the previous months. I have been temping for the first time this month and would recommend it as has given me a better understanding. As my temp drops before AF, I know that I'm probably not pregnant so don't get my hopes up and so saves the trauma of a week of wondering.

My scans a week on Monday so imagine will get m results in th next few weeks. Will let you know! Have they put you on any medication for IBS?
