Sat here stunned!! It's our 12th miserable cycle and I'm only 10dpo so I know it's early days but fuck me, how great is it to see that second line!

We threw everything we had at it this month, I've been following a low carb, high protein diet, had acupuncture at 1dpo and 8dpo, ate pineapple core from 1dpo-5dpo. We dtd every night for 7 nights straight (although there were a couple of failed attempts that ended in a cup and a syringe!).

And of course I started a new job today (same company, so mat leave protected) and I poas on the commuter train on the way home. Heh.

No idea how to tell dh as I promised him I'd wait till I was late to test (Friday) so hmmmmm....... Smile

Thanks mumsnet for all the support and ideas and encouragement. Love you ladies (and gents!!)

congratulations :)

Amazing news dontcall. Especially reassuring for me as I really associate with '12th miserable cycle'. I'm on 11th and starting to really find it awful.

Did you guys have any tests on nhs or anything? Interested to hear about your 12 minth's - feeling quite lonely and fed up at moment.

jaykay987 · 14/10/2013 20:15

Congratulations!!!

On a train? Im impressed with your balancing skills!

DontCallMeDaughter · 14/10/2013 20:19

We already have a dd m33r and so the nhs round here won't do any tests until you've tried for 24 months for the 2nd...

I hear you on feeling sad about it, every month for the past 6 months on the exact day I got my period, someone told me they were pregnant...

We stupidly expected that we'd find it easy because we did conceive dd very fast... I wish I'd had it in my head that it was a year long slog for it to happen again. It's been brutal on both me and dh.

I really feel for you m33r, have you been to your GP yet??

Great news!

BecauseYoureGorgeous · 14/10/2013 20:21

That was for the OP. For m33r I say hang in there and I cross my fingers it comes good for you.

m33r · 14/10/2013 20:26

Yeah, we have. My referral to the hosp (just telling me we're in the queue) arrived on my 30th birthday but not got our date yet.

I dunno, part of me thinks we're still ok but another part thinks something wrong ... Feeling a bit better tonight but last night was AWFUL. Just couldn't shake the negativity and I'm such a positive person usually.

Not changed my diet or anything. What do you recommend? Not overweight; don't smoke etc etc so didn't want to go down the road of changing everything but I might be there now...?!?

Have you told DH? You must be excited to tell dd !!! How old is she?

m33r · 14/10/2013 20:27

Thanks gorgeous! You got dcs?

DontCallMeDaughter · 14/10/2013 20:37

Have you been taking your temps? My acupuncturist recommended a low carb, high protein diet to help my progesterone levels because my temp never rose much and would dip a week before AF was due, which suggested my progesterone levels were low. This month, I had a little dip on dpo8 but it rose again on dpo9 and I didn't take it today because dd woke up at 4am Hmm

I'm 35 in a couple of months so you're a couple of years behind me which is good news for you.

The pineapple thing I read about on mumsnet, it's supposed to help the egg implant.

I know what you mean about starting to wonder if something is really wrong, but then telling yourself it will be fine etc... And least you know you're on a list, I hope you get a date soon (or better yet, a bfp!!)

Oh and dd is nearly 2 and no, haven't told dh... I've told him we should take a test tomorrow... I don't want him to know I tested without him!!

m33r · 14/10/2013 20:42

Thanks dontcall. I've not been temping but using opks. I'm 30 but DH is 42. I know it doesn't matter for men but he won't want to be any older.

But you've made me believe this could be our month! Thanks!

Have a brilliant time telling DH and happy healthy 9months! And thanks again for chatting to me when you prob just want to shout from rooftops!!!!!

Congrats !!

Angelina77 · 14/10/2013 20:46

Congratulations OP :), I'm in a similar situation myself and got a BFP yesterday. Me and BF even shagged in the disabled toilet in my office this month Blush

DontCallMeDaughter · 14/10/2013 20:46

Temping is a massive pain in the bum because you have to do it at the same time every morning just as you wake up.... But it really helps you understand your cycle... It's the only way I knew when I ovulated because I got 3 days of peak on OPKs.

And you can track how well you're doing in the 2ww... It's not as accurate but if your temp starts to drop you know a bit sooner that it's not your month...

Thank you for your kind words, I know how hard it is to be happy for someone and sad for yourself at the same time. Best of luck!

m33r · 14/10/2013 20:54

dontcall I'm still so happy for you! And others! It doesn't stop me cause you are! And it helps to learn from others! :-) good for you! Happy little addition to your wee family!

m33r · 14/10/2013 20:55

angelina you cheeky monkey! Lol!!!!!!

Angelina77 · 14/10/2013 21:03

Haha, I know! Typical it would be this month I get a BFP, BF thinks it will be hilarious to tell future child where he/she was conceived!

m33r · 14/10/2013 21:19

Hee hee hee!! FX

HollyBen · 15/10/2013 07:48

Angelina you don't happen to work for a bank do you? DH came home a few weeks ago telling me of a couple seen exiting the disabled toilet together..... Congratulations on the BFP

Angelina77 · 15/10/2013 14:58

Thanks :) No, and thankfully we weren't spotted or I never would've been able to come back to work.
