No ovulation discharge?

Hi all,

Got a bit of a strange question for you....is it possible to ovulate without the egg white discharge making an appearance?

My periods are normally 5weeks apart which means I should've ovulated this week. I did have a slight pain in my hip area which only lasted an hour or two but normally I get the stretchy egg white discharge which hasn't made an appearance!

Ttc #2 so got straight down to it the day I had the slight pain Grin but wondered if I've actually ovulated this month?

What do you lovely ladies think?

I was googling this last night too, I have no idea, but I'm hoping someone will know something about this. Google said that it varies from woman to woman and cycle to cycle. Hope that helps (a little!)

Thanks, yeah I googled it too but thought it was strange as I normally get it. Will just have to wait a couple of weeks to test Smile x

I have heard people say that when they upped their fluid intake their ECM increased, soi guess the reverse could be true? Have you been drinking less than before?

Hi, not sure if it will help but read a post on anther website from a natural fertility expert all about signs leading up to fertility. it may be worth posting her a message see if she can help? I will put link onto end of message so you can have a read and see what you think. Hope it helps, good luck!!! forum.prideangel.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=537

Maybe you just got less this time and it stayed at the cervix so you didn't notice it?

RaRa1988 · 13/10/2013 22:17

Some women don't get it at all, but still ovulate, so yes it's possible...but I think it generally stays the same for each woman: if your fertile CM is EWCM, then it's a pretty good bet that you'll always get it when you're fertile. Could ovulation have been delayed? Are you certain you didn't get the EWCM - do you check up inside?

Laura05 · 14/10/2013 16:20

What does EWCM mean? I'm new to this do don't know all the lingo yet Smile

I did have a small amount if discharge which I normally get before the egg white discharge appears (hang on just worked out EWCM! Grin) so really don't know. My cycles are between 32-39days so could be a late ovulation and a later AF (hope not though as that'll be an even longer wait haha!) x

Sorry - Egg White Cervical Mucus. Haha well done! I remember being new on here and thinking everyone was speaking an alien language Grin

Do you chart or use OPKs (ovulation test sticks)? It's helpful to have at least a couple of ways of determining ovulation.

Laura05 · 15/10/2013 15:19

Hi no I'm not charting or doing anything like that. With my daughter I fell pregnant 1st attempt, 4 days after coming off the pill so this time it's all very new to me x
