Ovulation testing - highs and lows

Hi, I'm a first time TTC-er and using an ovulation test after a few months of doing it the fun way. Went for a reputable brand of ovulation kits and got some random results. 5 days of High fertility and the day I apparently hit ovulation (day 14) the monitor packs up on my digital screen - the old smiley face is still staring at me 3 hours after I ejected my test. Confused as hell. Is anyone else experiencing these odd results? Has anyone else had a monitor blip? Does it ever re-set? Do we 30 somethings ever get pregnant??

Is it the Clearblue monitor you are using or the Clearblue digital ovulation tests? Only, I know that when you get a fixed smiley (peak ovulation) on the CB tests the smiley face will stay on the screen for 48 hours. I'm afraid I don't know about the monitor though, so ignore my answer if that is what you're using. Smile

Yeah, that's not broken. Once you get the fixed it stays like that for two days when you can start using it again. The only way around it is to have two of the little machines and switch to the other after the peak to see if it's still there!

And five days of high isn't unusual either. I know the packet says two days of high, two days of peak but it seems to rarely be that straight forward. I was high for most of my cycle when I used them; like over two weeks before getting the peak. There's a lot of people getting highs for much longer than two days.

Good luck!

Hi, not sure if it will help but I read a post on another site from a natural fertility expert on how to tell when you are fertile. Its all about recognising your bodies signs leading up to ovulation. I know it wont answer your questions about the predictors but it may help you understand whats going on?! Hope this helps anyway, forum.prideangel.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=537
