Come to the BESH funfair - we have a coconut shy, apple bobbing, dodgems and much much more. The prizes? Shiny new BFPs, of course. You can only go on the rides if you're a barren 30plus-er, the entrance fee is one completed BESHtionairre.

Morning hags!

Just to say good luck on embie-news for euro! Really hope all four are doing well! ET today or Monday?!? Exciting stuff!

Sorry about the fallen thru appointment Fizz! Have some cushions and some chocolate and gin for the wait! You too, cherry!

Nearly starting time, bugs! I agree w the odd glass of wine to keep you sane! My dad turned 70 during my round and I distinctly recall having a little. Altho DRing made me v headachy and mental, so not much was the order of the day. I always think the egg buddies go a bit overboard w diet and stuff! Massive good luck and I hope u won't have to start!

eurochick · 07/12/2013 08:29

Bugs we had our couple of months "off" before this cycle. I only really cut down on the wine once CD1 arrived, and still had a glass of wine on about 3 occasions whilst stimming (at Xmas dos, largely to avert suspicion as I just couldn't take someone asking me if I was pregnant at that point).

Boo for rubbish clinic fizz.

Thanks for all the pompom waving and fertilisation vibes. They did the trick. 3 out 4 fertilised, which is good (we got 2 fertilised last time we had 4 eggs). They are in the embryoscope now, and ET will be Sunday.

I overdid it a bit yesterday. I should have had the day off to recover, but a colleague was stuck for someone sufficiently senior to accompany her on a "dawn raid" to seize a naughty company's papers, so I stepped in. It was over an hour each way to get there and a very long day spent almost entirely on my feet (and quite stressful - we had security guards with us in case someone kicked off). It was probably a bit silly to do it, but I figured it couldn't affect our chances (no eggs or embies are in me at the moment) and all it would do would tire me out, and I could recover at the weekend. I was completely zonked last night though. At least it meant I slept well!

CatsCantFlyFast · 07/12/2013 08:47

Woo to 3 out of 4!

Three out of four is cracking. Well done!

I didn't stop drinking until about a week before EC (our anniversary). Not that I'd been drinking much anyway - just gin on a Friday night - but I refused to stop doing everything I liked on the very slim chance it would make any difference.

MyNameIsWinkly · 07/12/2013 09:30

Well done on the three fertilised ones, that's great. Take it easy today if you can, and good luck for tomorrow.

Well done on 3 embies! Keeping my fingers crossed that they behave themselves and get growing!

FrankelInFoal · 07/12/2013 14:33

Well done on 3 embies euro, now take it easy

Definitely not. Mine still isn't completely unpacked and we've lived here 8 years!

JethroTull · 07/12/2013 18:44

Good work on the 3 embies Euro. Your dawn raid sounds interesting!!

Bugs I hated moving house. I worked like a dog for about a week trying to get everything looking nice & then promptly got flu because I hadn't slept or eaten enough. The house looked good though...!!

That might be a good idea. He's obviously feeling the strain as well.

Well that explains the nesting. I always have a frantic tidying urge just before my period arrives.

Hurrah for imminent IVF. Stabbing starts Boxing Day or thereabouts then?

Yeo. I noticed it a few years back. If I'v got a tedious job like sorting old files or something, I just leave it until the hormones make me want to do something abou ti!

cherrycoconut · 07/12/2013 22:09

No wonder my house is currently such a mess!

Good luck with ET, euro! How were the tireless three doing today?

Sorry, bugs, the only thing IVF drugs did was made me knackered and desperate to curl up on the couch. But YAY for imminent starting. I really hope it'll work for you, and that you won't go mental DRing. I reckon counselling can only help. Maybe you should give yourself a bit of a break as well as GP!

Everything that happens during pmt time, I always blame on progesterone crashing. It's an evil transition, altho I tend to feel better afterwards.

evilgiraffe · 08/12/2013 15:17

IVF drucks had very few side effects for me, except hot flushes while downregging. Not long now, bugs! Excellent carol, too Grin

ET today, euro? Hope everything went/is going well :)

eurochick · 08/12/2013 15:29

It has been a bit of an emotional afternoon. Two of the trio were not dividing properly and most likely genetically abnormal and the third was - as with all our embryos - a bit slow (5 cell this morning, 6 just before transfer (should ideally be 8)).

The embryologist started talking about donor eggs. I cried.

I have the slow one on board but not much hope.

My mum's mum had 2 kids a decade apart in the days when there wasn't much in the way of contraception. My mum had me and then miscarried 4. I suspect that strand of DNA is committing hari kari. :(

MyNameIsWinkly · 08/12/2013 15:53

Oh euro :( That's not ideal at all. Sounds like you've really been through it, I'm not surprised you cried. I will keep my fingers, toes, arms, eyes and anything else I can think of crossed for the embie on board.

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 08/12/2013 16:25

Oh, euro, how difficult :( I have everything crossed that this one sticks.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 08/12/2013 16:30

Oh euro, what a rubbish day! I am so sorry and would have cried too. Keeping everything crossed for a good slow starter! Big hug!
