Come to the BESH funfair - we have a coconut shy, apple bobbing, dodgems and much much more. The prizes? Shiny new BFPs, of course. You can only go on the rides if you're a barren 30plus-er, the entrance fee is one completed BESHtionairre.

I am trying to practice the mullet of mindfulness to kill the waiting bugs. Sometimes it helps and then I get to the end of the road on my journey home from work and the little trill of expectation knocks me right off my guard. Blush

evilgiraffe · 03/12/2013 21:54

Yeah, fizz, I got night sweats when downregging. Thankfully they weren't too severe or frequent, but they were over the summer when everything was already warm so I couldn't escape, IYSWIM. My best downregging (which lasted the best part of four months) purchase was a Japanese fan, I took it everywhere and it saved me during hot flushes!

Glad to hear you've been having some time with your family, coco.

Waiting is horrific when you don't know when the next thing is coming. Fixed dates are bad enough for anticipation, but the frustration and anxiety of waiting for letters and phone calls is a special kind of hell.

cherrycoconut · 03/12/2013 22:48

You're not wrong on the waiting thing draf, waiting for nothing is truly a peculiar hell of anxiety. I'd like to say I'm getting good at it, but only on the whipping myself into a frenzy and not on the cool patience front. Practice does not make perfect in this instance!

On the plus side my Christmas internet shopping is gaining pleasing momentum. That Panorama programme about the hideous working conditions at Amazon has definitely altered my online buying habits. Anyone else catch it?

Morning hags!

Loads of news on here, taking it one page at a time...

So sorry winks. It is really sad and horrible :(

Well done euro on triggering and I know why you think that, but it is really uncommon, pains and aches at the wrong time are part and parcel of the crazy route that is IVF Have an enjoyable drug-free day today.

Yes, fizz, check for night sweats! I also got some joyful hot flushes but they were little inconvenient compared to the emotional upheaval that came with DRing drucks, waves surreptitiously at euro I did find the worst side effects went when I added stims in the mix.

Bugs well done on and excellent decision and I'm well jealous of your wonderful GP(s), get yourself settled in your lovely home, and get yourself ready in head and spirit for 2014 and the cycle.

Right off to read the next page...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 04/12/2013 08:19

So sorry cherry both for the so very poorly sister, the gran and the interminable waiting. Have you got a family gathering planned for Christmas?

Waiting for letters is dreadful, we got our good, phew nuchal fold results in the post last week and I didn't dare to go to the letter box. Luckily SB is a bit more brave.

As to phoning and chasing, I left most of that to SB as well. I was too chickenish, generally and I thought he could do a bit of it. As I don't share his name they always did a lot of suspicious checking he was actually my husband before him getting anywhere.

Oh dear about amazon, how bad was it, draf?

eurochick · 04/12/2013 10:37

Hurrah for good test results drizz. Does it all seem real now?

cherry what a lot of worry you have at the moment. You seem to be coping really well.

Our boiler is leaking. Grrr. It's only a drip at the moment, but it is in the loft above our bedroom so the dripping is keeping us both awake. Annoying. Trying to find a plumber now.

cherrycoconut · 04/12/2013 18:41

Bugs they make the pickers run round a massive warehouse, sometimes in the dark, chasing the countdown of a beeping machine and getting punished by huge targets. Looked a bit grim. How was your first day of chill out?

OOoh, good news on nuchal fold results Driz. I have no idea what it means but it sounds good Smile. Damnit, I forgot to ring FC today. Does anyone else get into work and get whisked away to some alternative planet of urgency for the day? I don't even have time to remember who I am never mind to call the FC, the plumber or pay the gas bill, etc. etc.

ROCH is less than useless at ringing anyone so this is my bag.

We'll be with ROCH's parents for Christmas and mine after which will be nice. I am cooking Wine.

Thanks for the vote of confidence euro. Feeling a little ragged round the edges but what can you do. Good luck with the plumber.

FizzyFeet · 04/12/2013 18:58

I hear you on the work/ urgency thing. I find it very very difficult to remember anything that isnt work while I'm there and forget a few actual work things too

Having said that, I have a review appt with a consultant on 6 January, so that's progress. We will decide whether to go for an au natural FET or get some drugs going. I think I will also mention the ghastly night sweats - I understand it while down regging but I'm not taking any drugs at the moment! Thanks for the tip about the supplements, cherry. I have got back on the pill-popping horse today after slacking off a bit recently.

Driz - hurrah for good test results!

FizzyFeet · 04/12/2013 19:00

Just realised I made no sense - I phoned the clinic during work today to set up the review appt so am therefore veh proud of myself.

Yes to Amazon being evil. I will be attempting to do most of my shopping in small local businesses this year and try not to rely on corporate uglies too much.

cherrycoconut · 04/12/2013 19:41

glad I'm not the only one on the remembering at work front. I swear they steal your soul on the way in. Well done on ringing and yay for appointment.

Sounds like my kinda day bugs - without the boobage ishoo. Thats a nagging worry. Hopefully will disappear as fast as it arrived. If not, we will nag. FIngers crossed it's nothing.

eurochick · 05/12/2013 12:00

bugs seeing if it goes in a few days seems reasonable. I've had a few lumps investigated (the drs always refer me because my mum had breast cancer pre-menopause, so it's likely to be genetic) and they have all been fine so far.

That sounds horrible about Amazon. Mind you, I'm not sure it sounds worse than being run ragged as a ward nurse or staying til 2am to finish a doc in my job.

I'm back from EC. It was all fine. I stayed awake again and that was ok. I felt more this time. It was a different anaesthetist and I think the drug cocktail was not quite as good, but it was ok. I was a completely different person going in there without the prospect of being knocked out. In the past I have been massively stressed for about a week before hand. This time I was a bit nervous for about 10 minutes. It's a huge improvement! They got 4 eggs, which is what was expected, although a bit of a disappointment after all the injecting.

Thanks Bugs.

I'm very impressed by your boss! Enjoy your weeks of leisure!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 05/12/2013 15:15

Well done, euro! IOTO and you got four!!!

The day sounds good bar the boob situation, bugs! Enjoy the time off! Much needed!!

Hot flushes w/out drucks sound crap, Fizz! Hope th appointment is useful, well done for ringing!

Cherry, I too forget stuff at work and to make it worse, I have no privacy, so FC ringing was always v stressful!

evilgiraffe · 05/12/2013 15:36

Excellent work, euro!

Hooray for 4 eggs euro! Well done you. And well done for doing EC awake! Hope you're not too uncomfy. Will they call you tomorrow with fertilisation news?

Bugs what sort of people are they? What do they like? Chronic lack of imagination is why all my family send lists round!

Clinic rang - they can't do 6 Jan after all. Sigh.

Great news for 4 eggs Euro

cherrycoconut · 06/12/2013 22:51

Glad to hear the EC went so well for you euro - four eggs is four eggs still and all to play for, I'm rooting for you lovely.

Welcome to the waiting room chairs Fizzy have you tried Not on the High Street for gifts? I've just been on a raid and found it very satisfactory
