Come to the BESH funfair - we have a coconut shy, apple bobbing, dodgems and much much more. The prizes? Shiny new BFPs, of course. You can only go on the rides if you're a barren 30plus-er, the entrance fee is one completed BESHtionairre.

Just noticed I did an impressive cross post with you Fizz! Well done embies and good for you on making the decision. Lots of chances in the freezer for you. Have you decided on when the FET Will be? Sometime in the new year?

Btw frank I love your fat fingers! It makes me feel minorly competent!

eurochick · 21/11/2013 18:42

Hurrah for fertilisation, fizz! That's a lot of embies!

I'm back from the clinic. The scratch was fine - the catheter going in and the nurse pressing on my bladder with the scan thingummy hurt more than the actual scratching!

KFZK is in a grump though. Just what I need.

MyNameIsWinkly · 21/11/2013 18:45

What's he grumping about? You've just been poked and tubed and interfered with, he should be making you tea and offering you a selection of confectionery, not acting like a child. Glad the scratch went well.

Glad procedures went well, everyone :)

I dunno what's up. He's usually good and supportive and we rarely argue.

But I don't feel he's on board for this cycle. I've dragged myself through the last 3 against my own will. Now I've come to terms with it and feel fine about the impending cycle, he now doesn't want to do it. I'm not sure I have the energy to drag him through this one! To be fair to him, he wanted to wait until after Xmas. I wanted to fit in one more this year/before I turn 38 in Jan, so the timing was my choice but he agreedto it back in October. We talked about it yesterday as he seemed reluctant and I said if he wanted to we could cancel it then, but once I had put myself through the scratch we were going ahead! So in my view, his time to object was gone by the time he decided to go all grumpy and withdrawn at today's appointment. Hurrumph.

Quite right, winks. Now where's my bloody chocolate?

I'm treating myself to a glass or two of red wine tonight. Mmmm.

FizzyFeet · 21/11/2013 20:02

Sorry about grumpy KFZK, euro. It is hard on the menz sometimes. Perhaps his quietness was a mixture of awe for how hardcore you are to put yourself through such physical shiz, and feeling sad/ frustrated that he can't do more?

Am about to join you in a glass of vino. It's got antioxidants in, right?

bugs get shagging! And if this ain't the one it will be nice to have a menkul buddy in Jan. Booking a holiday is def a good idea too.

eurochick · 21/11/2013 20:27

That's a nice thought. But it was pure mardiness. We seem to have sorted it out now though.

I think one thing that is playing on his mind is that since we agreed to go ahead in December, he has found out one of his cases is going to be heard in the European Court (a big deal). And the hearing falls right in the EC window. I can't tell him whether or not he will need to be in the country that day or now. So he will probably have to let someone else go as it is not really feasible to drop out at the last minute. I feel a bit guilty about that as I have fitted the treatment around my hearings. But the European Court never give you much notice. In my area, I know my case schedules months in advance.

fizz it has LOADS of antioxiwotsits. Loads.

FizzyFeet · 21/11/2013 21:33

Glad you're on better terms now, euro.

The ivf/ work thing is a bugger. We are going through a restructure and there are lots of international opportunities but I want to know the outc

FizzyFeet · 21/11/2013 21:35

Glad you're on better terms now, euro.

The ivf/ work thing is a bugger. We are going through a restructure and there are lots of international opportunities but I want to know the outcome of treatment before applying. I have a nasty feeling an interview for the job I really want (based here, effectively the job I've been doing since my boss left) might come at the same time as FET. Hey ho.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 22/11/2013 09:43

Sorry about the grumpy KFZK, but well done for surving the scratch, euro. Have some more wine tonight, and maybe he'll be in a better mood. It is awkward, the balance between work/life and treatments.

Enjoy the shagfest, bugs. I really hope you get your FUFC, you have more than done your time! Planning hols for post-IVF is good. We have been on two short ones post round 1 and post-FET and particularly the first one really helped with getting over the chemical... Wine and cheese, I recommend. Staying off it is quite easy if things have gone well!

Will you get more news on the embies before they are frozen fizz? Will they be singly or in pairs? So FET in Jan, I will keep everything crossed for you!

FizzyFeet · 22/11/2013 10:12

They're already in the freezer, driz! They advised us to freeze on day 1 at 2-cell stage because they have a better chance of defrosting (95-100% rather than 80%). So it does mean that we don't know how they will develop after thawing - it is possible that we won't get any to implant after all Confused. But given that two of my mcs were ectopic it does seem that we can create embryos that develop, just not in the right place. Am waiting for a consult appt to discuss how many to defrost and whether I want to do a medicated or natural frozen cycle.

eurochick · 23/11/2013 09:19

Morning all.

I am on The Case of the Missing Boots. I ordered some warm boots online. I checked my account yesterday evening and it shows they were delivered yesterday afternoon. Not to us! I have just called the company any they have been signed for. Hmmm. SOME BASTARD HAS MY BOOTS! We were in all day yesterday and KFZK was actually putting the bins out at the exact time the tracker shows they were delivered and saw a delivery van go down our mews but it didn't stop (it is a tiny mews that doesn't get much through traffic). WHERE ARE MY LOVELY BOOTS OF WARMNESS?

FrankelInFoal · 23/11/2013 09:44

Oh no Euro! Are you going to go knocking on doors to find out who has them? Can you ask for a copy of the signature to see if you can figure out who the light-fingered bastard is?

eurochick · 23/11/2013 10:10

The company are trying to find out what has happened. My guess is that they have been delivered to [housenumber] X Road instead of X Mews. That is just round the corner, so we might try knocking there later. The boots are now sold out in my size. :( They were a little treat for myself for going through the horrid scratch.

MyNameIsWinkly · 23/11/2013 14:29

Grr Angry Hopefully the people at X Road aren't knobbers and you get your boots.

OP posts:
eurochick · 23/11/2013 15:25

They had been delivered to a lovely little lady at X Road. But I'm not sure I like them anyway. :(

MyNameIsWinkly · 23/11/2013 15:29

Oh. Poo. I hate that. Can you send them back, take a half day from work and go to Bluewater or Westfield shopping as a treat for yourself?

OP posts:
eurochick · 23/11/2013 15:32

Yes, I think I will send them back. KFZK wants to buy a North Face jacket so I think I will do battle with the teens and chavs at Stratford Westfield tomorrow!

Spent the day with my cousin, her husband and their gorgeous 1 year old daughter. They'd come up to Leeds for a scan and blood test as their first son had Edwards syndrome and was terminated at 25 weeks. They can now do an amazing chromosomal test on the foetal blood cells in the mother's blood from 9 weeks.

Bit sad now they've gone home Sad

FizzyFeet · 23/11/2013 18:29

Glad you had a nice day, ginger. What a nightmare for your cousin to go through. In my paranoid moments I worry about Downs or Edwards or other conditions, it must be so difficult.

euro glad you found the boots, but Sad you don't like them. I ordered a coat of t'internet the other day but it had me itching madly in the first few minutes.

bugs I need to wait for a withdrawal bleed, then a full cycle, then FET could be in the cycle after that if we go au naturel. So maybe Jan/ Feb? Exciting that you are starting stabbing soon. I found my outlook so much better once we were actually doing something.

Regular facials sound like an ace idea. I've been going do occasional massages to a fab ayurvedic lady but could do with going more regularly.

This evening I shall be mostly drinking fizz and watching Dr Who (the two are not related, I must add). We've had the bottle for so long - saving it for something special, not drinking due to ttc - and finally thought sod it! FET may or may not work but tonight we will celebrate small steps.

evilgiraffe · 23/11/2013 20:05

Aww, euro, it's a shame when things don't live up to expectations :(

We've been out for the day having lunch with half of HOTB's family. Peace and quiet at home now is SO welcome...

eurochick · 24/11/2013 14:34

Quiet 'ere, innit.

I'm still waiting for AF. It normally starts straight away - like turning on a tap. For the first time ever I have had a day or so of spotting/brown gunk, which I guess is due to the scratch. And of course this is the first time when I need to be able to identify day 1 as I have to start stabbing on day 2. But the longer AF stays away, the more chance there is that KFZK will make his hearing, so it's fine.

MyNameIsWinkly · 24/11/2013 15:50

Droids do like to piss about euro. Good luck with this round of stabbing. I take it you survived Westfield - did KFZK get his coat?
