Come to the BESH funfair - we have a coconut shy, apple bobbing, dodgems and much much more. The prizes? Shiny new BFPs, of course. You can only go on the rides if you're a barren 30plus-er, the entrance fee is one completed BESHtionairre.

What are your nipples like? I'm sure mine seemed noticeably darker and the aereola larger

Fizz, it's not really that bad once you get used to it. My best tips:

  • Get the vial out of the fridge half an hour before you are due to stab so it can warm up a bit
  • apply an ice cube to the area for 10-20 seconds before stabbing, it really makes a difference
  • set a daily reminder on your phone to a) get vial out of the fridge and b) stab

Hope the scan goes well

Oh bugs :( But you're testing really early still. At 10dpo even if it implanted quickly only 2 out of 3 hpts would be positive. Please stop pissing on things until the weekend.

Stabbing is no big deal, honestly, fizz. I agree with points 2 and 3 of Frank's list, but I never bothered with the ice - too much faff. My gonal-f pens were fine out of the fridge after the first use, so they were not all chilly like my downregging vials could be. I used a cotton wool ball on the needle when removing it (like what nurses do), as I found pressing the skin down made it more comfortable.

Sorry bugs :( Onwards and upwards with stabbing though, eh? :)

KatAndKit · 04/11/2013 19:41

That's a shame about the bfn, but as you say, silver lining, hopefully ivf will be first time lucky. You are right about superdrug tests. They are my early testing stick of choice. Its cos the dye is darker.

my tip to any drug stabbers is do not rub the site afterwards no matter how much it stings! Rubbing makes bruising worse. I have not tried ice, i may give it a go.

fizz I was the same as draf - I just used them straight out of the fridge and didn't bother icing. Cetrotide was stingy but mostly it was fine. I don't really bruise - so that wasn't a problem for me however much I rubbed or pressed on the site. I set a phone reminder, which was really useful. The idea of sticking a needle through your skin is odd but in my experience once you are past that barrier, the physical injecting really isn't that bad.

Sorry about the BFN, bugs but it really is veh early still.

Ah right, I thought you meant he was unexpectedly late and you hadn't heard from him.

How you feeling otherwise today?

Gosh bugs, poor GP that's brutal. I thought it was bad enough for HWCA with the fireworks and related gangs shite but that takes the biscuit. Not good for you either. Working from home sounds like the way forward.

Blimey, that is brutal, bugs! Poor GP.

I hope I will get to see fireworks tonight. I love Bonfire Night and am sad to have missed the big displays at the weekend.

Everyone deserves a bit of a binge every now and then Bugs, you've a lot to deal with. For example I definitely did not in any way shape or form eat an entire 150g bag of Milkybar Giant Buttons, clocking in at about 500cal, on Sunday night. Oh no, not me

I know what you mean about falling off the wagon, bugs. I resisted sticky toffee pudding today at lunch, only to be ambushed by a brownie at 3pm!

Scan update: down regging seems to have worked (hurrah) and I have 7 follies on the left and 3 on the right (double hurrah). It's still a bit of a low number but given that there were only 2 on my first scan, I'm chuffed! Stabbing commences tomorrow night. I laughed out loud during the demonstration - they have a little rubbery fake stomach for you to stab into! How random to live in a world where there are fake stomachs. I can't imagine that injecting myself is going to be anything like the fake stomach but hey ho.

We seem a bit thin on the ground at the moment, BESH. Where are some of our AWOL members? BESHer, cherry, bear, moll? Haz we scared them off?
