help late 30s ttc and just found a lump in my breast

Sorry this is not a very happy subject. I found a lump in my breast last week and the doctor is sending me to see a consultant. I'm 35 and ttc for 6 months. I just wondered if its benign how long they usually take before they whip it out and so how long before I can go back to ttc. Obviously if it's not benign then it must be at least a year of treatment? And what you can do to see if you could conceive after that? I am very down. Can anyone advise?

Thanks for the good luck wishes. How did you get on Mirry? Mine was just normal breast tissue, so no further tests were done. Keeping my fingers crossed that you got the same news.

Hello surfermum. Glad to hear your news. They think its either a cyst or a fibradenoma (sp??) but want to send me for a biopsy and scan to make sure. The doc was v nice and said he would send me for a ultrasound rather than a mammogram because of ttc. But he sounded relaxed about the whole thing so I am not worried. May have to have an op when they find out what it actually is but looks like it's benign so that's great!

That's good news Mirry. Hope you don't have to wait too long to have the biopsy and scan. I expect you will just want to be getting it all over and done with.
