Hi Folks,
I had fairly heavy bleeding and a few hours of cramping over the weekend. 10 days ago the US picked up a heartbeat, then on Monday this week they could not find one- I was 6 weeks that day. They have said I have had a miscarriage and I have accepted that (as much as its possible to do so at this stage.) But, this morning I woke up feeling really sick, and have continued to feel sick all morning. I'm probably clutching at straws, but is it possible I could still be pregnant?

PS- how long does HCG take to go at this stage, I have some tests but don't want to mislead myself into getting a false + at this stage

Hi, sorry, what an awful time you must be having.

I MC'd in April (5 weeks) and they told me that I should wait a while then do a test to confirm I was no longer pregnant. So a test now, or even HCG results, might be misleading. Your body still 'thinks' your pregnant, if you see what I mean, it's still gearing up for it and takes a while to get back to normal.

I'm really sorry, I know how horrible it is to come to terms with.

I'm sorry you are going through this.

I'm confused - you wouldn't see a heart beat at 4 and a bit weeks-?

In my experience I didn't have nausea but the pregnancy symptoms I did have (sore boobs and insomnia) stuck around for a while after I had passed the sac and gradually receded over a couple of weeks. I was still getting a positive test for quite a while after I started bleeding (I'm not sure how long - I stopped testing as I found the BFPs upsetting).

I thought that would be the case. I don't 'feel' pregnant now, no sore boobs or anything else, just the sickyness today which made me wonder. Staying positive about it all though, I'm convinced these things happen for a good reason.

euro, yes I thought I was further along than they did- I dated it at about 6.5 weeks on the first scan but they said no, it was more like 5

Hi onefunkymama. Sorry to hear of your loss. I am no expert but guess it is the HCG still in your body. I continued to feel a bit sick and still had sore boobs for a few days after a MC and EPRC last month. Also I had positive tests for 3 weeks afterwards.

I guess its just a bug as I had not felt sick at all before the bleeding started
