Heart shaped uterus?

Hi apparently I have a heart shaped uterus which is "of no proven clinical significance" according to the gynaecologist -just wanted to check with others who may have one too as worried it might increase my chance of miscarriage?

To be honest, I haven't a clue - but thought it might reassure you to hear I have a very retroverted uterus: I've read (and been told by a midwife) that this can make it harder to conceive, but I've conceived easily enough four times now. Only time will tell I guess [smile ] - but if your gynae says there's no increased risk, I'd be reassured.

I also have a heart shaped uterus and though I've had lots of problems conceiving, I've seen loads of specialists now and they all say this has nothing to do with my issues.

Mine is heart shaped.

I carried both DSs to term. DS1 took a year to conceive, but I had been on the Depo jag beforehand. DS2 took 2.5yrs, but I was still breastfeeding ds1. I don't think my uterus had a major impact when it came to conception tbh

DS1 was breech because his head got stuck in one of the "horns" of the uterus, so I had an "elective" CS. It didn't feel like I had a whole lot of choice tbh.

DS2 was head down and I had a VBAC, but he was a good bit smaller than ds1 which I think is what allowed him to turn.

But each case is different.

I was blissfully unaware of my bicornuate uterus with ds1 (consultant told me after CS) but I know if I had known about it, it would have been something that I worried about during the pregnancy. I wasn't so worried with ds2 because I knew I had previously carried to term, so it was possible.

It depends what they mean by 'heart-shaped uterus'. I presume they're talking about an arcuate uterus, which is not associated with increased risk of miscarriage, it's just a variation on the theme of 'normal'. If you have a septate or bicornuate uterus, there is a chance of increase miscarriage amongst other things. You might want to check with your gynae what they mean by 'heart-shaped uterus', it does irritate me when people in the medical profession use euphemisms as if people are too thick to understand the correct terminology!

I have an arcuate, retroverted uterus. I had trouble conceiving due to PCOS and I had a miscarriage last year, but am currently 12wks with twins and all appears well!

I was told a couple of weeks ago that I have a heart shaped uterus - think bicornuate one. I sadly miscarry a lot ( no child so far) but was told that the shape of uterus is not causing it - and have other issues as well. Think it can cause problems later on in pregnancy depending on where the embryo implants but doesn't cause very early losses ( which is my case)
