Making myself too hopeful?

Hi, I'm new to mumsnet. I've been ttc for 15mths, I'm 39. Had blood tests and on waiting list for further tests. Other half has had sperm tested and all good. I have occassionally used the ovulation tests but trying to just have sex every other day rather than stress about it, however last month I used them and got the smiley face on day 9. However yesterday at day 21 (I usually have a 25/26 day cycle) I had the start of cramping and very dark blood, it's very light (no clotting), I still have it a bit today but it's certainly not my normal period. Am I getting myself too excited to think it might be implantation bleeding and cramps?

At CD21 how many Dpo is that?
Do you know length of your Luteal phase? A few cycles ago I had spotting for 2 days then AF started full flow. That had never happened to me before.
Try and contain excitement for now and see if bleeding stops in next 24 hrs. That would be good!
Fingers crossed for you. 15 months is long time x

Hi still trying to work out all the acronyms! I'm guessing dpo is days past ovulation in which case its 11/12 and my luteal cycle is normally about 15.

I've been on the waiting list for further tests since July :-( apparently it can take 26 weeks to get an appointment but time isn't on my side.

Just keeping everything crossed!

Ok, so to have spotting a few days early is unusual.
Has it stopped yet? Or do you feel like it the start of AF, but early.
You would be able to do an early preg test now though, or do you want to wait until the day AF is meant to come. Use your first morning urine if you do decide to test and I've heard superdrug tests are very good.
Fingers crossed for you. X
