Hi, first post in the forums so bear with me!

Myself and DH have decided to TTC child#2 (DD is almost 6) but we are really frustrated at how long it is taking to get an appointment to remove my contraceptive implant. I have to have a telephone appointment with the doctor's surgery first to confirm I want the implant out - I definitely do!! Have waited 2 weeks for this appointment. Then have to book an appointment for the actual removal so will have to wait another 2-3 weeks after that. Family planning clinic is much the same. We feel so frustrated as just want to start trying now and don't want to wait. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

yes I had to wait too. I had horrible side effects (constant bleeding) but was told I had to wait a year to see if it 'settled down.'

then when I said I wanted it out to ttc I had to attend three appointments and it took three months!!

I would never get it again.

I've had this one in 2 years and 9 months so almost time to come out anyway but still had to have telephone consultation which was a joke - she asked why I wanted it removing, I said we wanted to ttc and that was it - two weeks wait for a 30 second conversation! They couldn't fit me in for another 3.5 weeks but lovely lady at the family planning centre has found me an appointment for next week yay!!

I will never have enough one either, far too much faff and I too have had lots of bleeding problems - can't wait for it removed now!
