clear blue opk peak - false alarm?

I'm using clear blue advanced digital opks.

I know people can get multiple highs before a peak (first month I used them I got the standard 2, but last month I got 7).

But this cycle I went from low (Thursday/Friday) to Peak on Saturday. I was surprised as that meant my ovulation was 7-9 days early. But my temp still hasn't raised. I was expecting it to rise yesterday. When it didn't, I thought it would definitely go up today. But it went down.

Do you think it'll go up tomorrow? Or is it possible to get a false peak, the same as you can on IC opks?

I've continued to use IC opks, incase I get a second surge. No line yet.

Anyone see anything I've missed?

You can go straight to Peak... something to do with your hormones, but I can't remember exactly what. Ring the Care Line? They were really good with me.

I wouldn't have thought it could be a false reading, but it could be your body gearing up to ovulate and not quite managing it, in which case you should hopefully have another go.

Yeah maybe for some reason you had a little lh surge, enough for the opk to give you a peak, but not enough for ovulation. If you're pretty regular, presume you will ov again when you usually do and start using the sticks when you can again.

thanks for the responses. I was confused as I know you can get two LH surges, so can get two lots of positives on IC opks. But given CB OPKs look for LH and something else (cant remember - estrogen?) I wasn't sure if this could be 'faked' by the body or not.

I think I'll give up on CB this month. I'll keep with the IC opks. At least they don't cost a fortune.

I've felt a few twinges today - so perhaps the severe pain I had Saturday wasn't ovulation at all. (no idea what that was). Fingers crossed I get my temp rise tomorrow morning and all will be clear Smile

The oestrogen surge gives you the flashing smiley. If it's gone straight to fixed, it thinks it's seen your LH surge.

Ahh. Good to know. Thanks
