Implant/Pill

Ok..........so I am assuming that I am old enough to know better (being that I am 38), and of course I could also just ask my doc/nurse, but there is nothing quite like asking the advice from those who have been there.

So in the past I have been on the combo pill (3 weeks on 1 off) and the injection. More recently though I had the implant in. I had it in for two and a half years, it was due out in October but as I had a week of it was easier to get it out now. I have hated it, mostly as my AF has been irregular both in its arrival times and its length (2 of my last 3 lasted 5 weeks).

So as it happened I had it out on the last day of my last period. The nurse then gave me the mini pill (carezette) and said to take it the same day.

Now here is where I worry. The nurse said to use protection for first 7 days, but the pack day no extra protection is needed??? Then I hear/read the pill needs to be taken same time each day partly because it only last 22 hours...........so confused and worried much.

So then of course me and the OH did the unprotected naughty 3 days after implant removal...............do I have cause to worry or am I stressing over nothing?

cerazette has a 12 hour window for being late (the same as the combined pill). If the leaflet says you are ok with not having extra precautions then would go by what that says rather than what the nurse said.

from cerazette leaflet:

If you are less than 12 hours
late in taking a tablet, the
reliability of Cerazette® is
maintained. Take the missed
tablet as soon as you
remember and take the next
tablet at the usual time

Thank you. Been having a mini panic because of what of the nurse said.

My concern was not being fully protected in that first week between having the implant out and starting the new pill.
