brooker great news that you can go ahead with the fresh transfer! I'd be desperate to get on with it but I'm impatient why would you want to freeze them? Higher success rates? Keep drinking that water, girl! Looking forward to hearing fertilisation news this morning

rabbit don't know about the drinking and not peeing much, sorry. The first scan is not necessarily a sign of what you will end up with, no. I was a very slow responder to start, but managed to pick up after and who knows if it helped but I used a hot water bottle as much as I could and it seemed to help.

AFM, nothing new. 5 more days on the pill and then off to the clinic for the DR injection and the scratch. ET could be in just over 4 weeks time!

Just had the call. 5 have fertilised & 3 are duffers (either due to 2 sperm trying to fertilise the egg or abnormally dividing eggs). They are watching the other 6 today to see if any fertilise (in case they are slow). Feeling slightly disappointed at the fert rate (I had 7 out of 8 fertilise last time) but at my age I should be happy with 5 (?!) IOTO!

brooker what bugger said! Hope you're ok though. Five is still good, but I understand you are feeling disappointed cos of how many you started with.

bugger in my experience, the thought of the appointment is always worse than the reality.

brooker 5 is an amazing score - remember it's quality not quantity. IOTO! Are you going for blasto now or transferring earlier?
iwant fingers, toes and legs crossed for you, I hope ET goes smoothly and you are PUPO when you read this.
bugger I always find the waiting the worst part of this whole process. Try and relax and keep your mind off it, the appointment will come round quickly and be fine I'm sure.

rabbit I was told to make sure I didn't just drink water, but the occasional isotonic sports drink too. I guess it helps keep everything in balance. Good luck with your first scan.

Hi to val nobeer stars theowl and anyone else I've missed.

AFM, I have worked out the caffeine disagrees with me now, I had a coke, and couple of cups of tea yesterday and was very jittery. Also some delightful bladder irritation. Not surprising as I've cut it out entirely recently. DH is threatening to go to the doctor to get some valium, not to calm me down but to help him cope with my stressing.

2 days until ET for me, eek.

Hey everyone! All ur positive thinking for me must have worked - I am officially PUPO. U know when I started this I never thought I'd be so happy at the thought and yet here u am grinning my head off!! They put both back as both were strong and healthy, dividing well. Now comes the dreaded 2ww! This is going to take some patience!!...
brooker i think that's great. 5 is really good (but I suppose I'm measuring it against my little amount!). U r always going to be disappointed if it's not perfect but, as my new motto says, IOTO!! Keeping everything crossed for u that they divide well and u can go to blastocyst stage, that would be great! x

Well worst fears confirmed at scan. I have one follie on each side after 5 days of stimming and some very small ones. There was talk of cycle cancellation and worried looks. There isn't anything more they can do, Im on maximum dosage. I'm drinking loads, eating protein, acupuncture booked but I've been eating like a total purist for 2 years now so it all feels rather futile. I've also been hit with the curveball new that there is scar tissue from my op around my ovary, every time I'm scanned it is a new story. Last time my left ovary was classed as non viable, today there is a clear follie in it. I feel like such a failure. Not one of my gazillions of scans has ever made me feel OK, I always come out feeling like bawling my eyes out.

oh no rabbit! that sounds rubbish. so frustrating for you. no wise words i'm afraid, but sending a hug.

rabbit I know I don't have a success story as such (as in no baby), but I remember on 1 of my cycles having a day 6 scan and only 1 12mm follie and then I ended up with 2 or 3 eggs. Cancellation was never seriously mentioned to me, but I guess they would consider whether you wanted to pay if you weren't going to get tons of eggs. I guess, what I'm trying to say (badly) is don't give up hope, the follies can suddenly grow loads in a short period of time and I definitely recommend the hot water bottle as much as possible.

Thanks choco. It's an nhs round. But they said they ideally like 3 to go to theatre. Where are you up to with things? (Sorry I don't know everyone's stories yet). I've felt very tearful and glum today. Hard to tell what's Menopur and what disappointment.

Poor rabbit. I'm sure you'll get there, I think I did 13 days of stims in the end. I expect it's a mixture of the drugs and emotions making you feel glum.

I am doing a DE cycle, due to have ET w/b 2nd December.

bugs you'll feel soooo much better once you've had your appt. Call it a back up plan. Hopefully you won't need it, but if you do, you'll have set the ball rolling.
talulah how are you tonight menkulling buddy? My DH told me that he doesn't care about the outcome of 'the call' tom . After nearly knocking his block off I calmed down enough for his explanation.
As everything is now out of our control, he's determined that we shouldn't worry about it. He's right I know - but it's not that easy to be rational . Not to mention how I've been Feeling fed up tonight....

rabbit hang on in there. It's early days' yet - those follies could come good yet. If you need a good old bawl, go for it . The drugs definitely don't help. Big squeeze x

I don't feel I can share details of my cycle just yet but wishing you all the best. It is an emotional time and we are all very strong.

I've had my morning call. We had another egg fertilise overnight so we now have 6. All are dividing & are good quality. Dependant on how they do overnight we will either transfer tom am or Weds.

brooker 6 is an amazing score, fingers crossed they continue to do well and you can have a Wednesday transfer.
thoughtful share as much or as little as you feel you can. I know I lurk sometimes when it all gets too much, and I try to only post once a day. I'd go completely mental otherwise.
rabbit it only takes one... I've been where you are, I had two follicles, ended up with 3 eggs and a BFP (sadly chemical) so remember IOTO. Keep up with the milk drinking and hot water bottle cuddling and you will get there.
choco is it Degg or Dembryo you are going for in December? Either way good luck and how exciting.
nobeer good luck with the move, I hope it's not too stressful. Is there much DIY stuff your new place needs?
iwant congratulations on being PUPO, fingers crossed for one (or two!) to stick.
AFM - only one more sleep until ET. And then there's nothing to do except relax and hope everything goes well. OTD for me is 18th November, but I've already decided to test earlier on the 16th if I get that far. I'm trying to do lots of positive visualisation too.

Keep going with the cycle rabbit in my opinion. I only had 2 viable eggs and stopping was discussed with me. But I chose to carry on, and in doing well so far - hope everything goes well for u whatever ur decision x

We're moving tomorrow, won't have internet for a couple of weeks but will try to keep in touch with the thread on my phone. Almost totally packed. We ran out of boxes earlier but found some more. Stress aaargh! Thank god we're not IVFing at the mo, I think I'd totally lose it!

Sorry to invade - I'm a complete newbie but just finished my first cycle of IVF and had an embryo transfer on Thursday, so I'm looking for people to obsess with now during the 2ww!

I'll find out tomorrow how many of our 6 embryos (other than the 1 that was transferred, obviously) made it to day 5 and have been frozen but then the excitement is over until test day - 13th.

Wishing for BFPs for all those trying.
