Just looking for a hand to hold really.

Just before my AF was due two weeks ago I started spotting then had two days of bleeding and the 12 more days of spotting. For some reason I did a pregnancy test this morning and got a BFP.

Just home from the Doctors and they are sending me for a scan tomorrow to see if I have miscarried. From my dates I could be 6 weeks.

Anyone been through anything like this?

I had an implantation bleed with dd1, I thought if had af all be it lighter then normal and carried on TTC so didn't find out til 2 weeks later when the opk kept reading positive so it is possible to bleed and still be pregnant, particulaly with your first month when you would be due, my friend had the same and spotted for 5 days, if you bled when af was due and it was a mc it would have been classed as a chemical pregnancy and I wouldn't expect you to still get a positive on a test at this point. I'd say be cautious but no reason not to be optimistic, have you tried another test with fmu to compare line strength to see whether the hormones getting stronger?

I agree with kittykats - it might work out fine. I'm sure your doctor told you this, but if you experience any pain, particularly one side, an odd pain in your shoulder tip, more bleeding or upset stomach, please get medical help immediately as these are all signs of an ectopic pregnancy. The chances of it being ectopic are very small, so I don't want to worry you, but it is very dangerous if untreated.

Keeping everything crossed for your scan tomorrow. Do be prepared for it not to be conclusive (eg they might not get a clear picture, or might see a sac but it's too early for a heartbeat), and for them to want to repeat it in 48 hours. But I really hope you see a viable embryo, in the right place, and this has all just been one of those very common episodes of early bleeding that all works out fine!
