Your last thread got somewhat derailed so I thought I would treat you to a lovely shiny new place full of real open fires, fluffy blankets and an aga for baking bread and warming soups and stews. Back on with the job in hand ladies, lets have a round up of who's doing what and when.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 11/11/2013 12:38

Oh Geek, that's amazing news! How are you feeling about it all? I'm so sorry you have flu. It's bloody awful. Have some Cake

What's bothering you Musical?

musicalmrs · 11/11/2013 16:58

Nothing in particular Maybe! Just remembering all the emotions from TTCing last time round. As wonderful as Stacks's super-quick BFP (and Too's too, I hope, brooking hard!) I've been reminding myself it could take a long time (especially as I have no cycles at the moment!) and the excitement has been taken over by gloom.

To be fair, this could be largely down to the miserable weather and my huge to do list! The pill has always made my moods go up and down a bit - looking forward to that hopefully subsiding in the very near future.

A BFP will lift my mood though. Have you acquired more pee sticks yet Too?! :)

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 11/11/2013 17:59

DH has purchased 2 more Tesco cheapies. Can't wait for tomorrow morning!

Musical, you will get your BFP quickly, I am Brooking No Argument!

Geek, exciting news, hurray for a date to work to!

musicalmrs · 11/11/2013 19:34

Hurrah Too! Roll on morning Smile Hope Tesco cheapies are good - I've only got one of those in the house! Not planning on buying anymore so I can't panic test when my time comes Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 11/11/2013 19:42

Brooking so hard Too! It's going to be a sleepless mighty for you!

That makes total sense musical. But you're going to get diffed ASAP this time. I'm brooking co argument Wink

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 11/11/2013 23:30

Popping in to Brook for you Too :)

Musical Brooking that you follow Stacks and Too.

OP posts:
musicalmrs · 11/11/2013 23:42

Boo, with my lack of AF, bfing and underweight-ness, I suspect it may take a while Wink. But thanks for the brooking nevertheless!

Thank you too Maybe!

Finally had a breakthrough with the piece I'm working on.. so I'm now allowed to go to bed. Had to check back for Too news first though! (I know, daft time for POAS-ing, but you never know..)

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 12/11/2013 07:19

There is now a slightly darker line. Took ages to develop, though - well outside the 3 minutes it says on the packet. Pic on FB.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/11/2013 09:11

Definitely a line there Too. Still think that FRER are the most reliable though, so I reckon you should wee on at least one of those too Wink

Well done on the breakthrough Musical!!

ScarlettInSpace · 12/11/2013 09:57

Agree with maybs FRER is the way forward not that I've ever seen a real life line on any stick ever fab news tho!

geek glad you've got your dates sorted

cups when is your appt again?

After this week I only have 5 full weeks at current job left woohoo!

mrs how long were you ttc last time?

CakePigeon · 12/11/2013 09:58

A line's a line I reckon - congrats Too!!

ControlGeek · 12/11/2013 10:10

too that is so exciting!!! A tentative congrats for you, but I am sure tomorrow's line will come up quick and dark (I'm not in the fb group but if maybe sees a line, there's a line!!!) How many dpo are you?

I've decided to get rid of a load of my tests, so if any brookers would like them then please pm me your address. I'm happy to split. I've got on offer:

6 x Morrisons Own (similar in style to SuperDrug)
2 x SuperDrug
1 x Clear Blue Digital
40 x IC

The clear blue digital date-expired in October this year, but I only bought it less than a year ago so I'm guessing that's more because of the battery than the test iyswim? Still, if anyone wants it it's yours.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 12/11/2013 10:52

who are you really? Getting rid of tests indeed! Unless you don't need them WinkWink How are you feeling now, has the lurgy left the Geek house?

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 12/11/2013 11:05

Notice I haven't offered up any FRERs Boo Grin I've decided they are the only ones I can trust now, given they were the only ones to pick up the pathetically tiny levels of HCG in my system after my last IVF round.

Unfortunately, I think my lurgy has killed any chance I may have had this cycle. Temp went up to 103, no DTD since last Wednesday and ov didn't happen until Saturday but that puts me on course for a 31 day cycle (OMG I can't believe I am consistently having 31 day cycles!) with the next one due to start on 21st Nov, bang on time for my downreg to start. I think the lurgy is finally on its way out, I'm now at the banging-headache-made-worse-by-hacking-cough stage but the aches seem to have gone at last. Builders are coming tomorrow (yay, more banging!) so I guess I'll have to haul myself into the shower later and rediscover how to get dressed Grin

Oh, and CBFM has gone onto ebay at a grand starting price of 99p along with about a million others already on there from other sellers

And I also forgot to mention, I'm going to be having a dildocam on the 21st too - let's hope AF isn't her normal early-riser self otherwise it'll be a bloodbath dildocam

musicalmrs · 12/11/2013 11:46

Hurrah Too! Diffed Grin May I be nosy and enquire if you're still bfing? Actually, same question to the delightfully diffed Stacks? Wondering if I need to make an effort to drop feeds..

Scarlett, I'm not really sure how long we were ttcing for last time. I came off the pill and we weren't trying but we were iyswim? After a good few months of proper trying I became a brooker and got my BFP on my first brooking cycle Grin To confuse matters I also had AF.. my body's a bit barmy Wink

Geek, there's still a chance! :-) can't believe you're destashing though.. wonder who has the next biggest brooking peestick collection?

Thanks Maybe! Hoping said breakthrough will mean I can get on with lots of writing and hopefully forget about ttc a bit Wink How're you? Hope you're feeling a bit better sickness wise?

Stacks · 12/11/2013 12:04

Musical I'm still feeding T about 6 times a day, though probably not much at each go. AF came back about a month after I dropped night feeds (though I still feed once a 'night' between 3 and 6am). I'm also 7kg lighter than pre-DS, went from 65 to 58kg while bf him. Got pg on first AF after T, never went back on any contraception - T was enough to stop any dtd!

Congratulations Too! We're local enough I could give you a FRER if you like? Could meet same place again and have a cuppa.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 12/11/2013 12:07

Too so excited for you! Brooking for a dark fat line tomorrow Smile

Music try not to worry. You have the power of brooking behind you. Fingers crossed you pull a stacks and a too!!

Geek great news about the down reg appointment. Thanks but no thanks for the tests! I don't need anymore temptation Grin

I've been to my appointment. Now treating myself to a chai latte and muffin before heading home. DH has gone back to work. We saw a new consultant. To sum it we are still unexplained. We only just fell into ICSI category as DH's count was 14.5 million and there cut off is under 15. Count at EC was 70million. She said we could try IVF next time but she still would recommend ICSI so we have said we will continue with that. Out of our 6 fertilised eggs only one was good quality which she agreed was disappointing considering my AMH, age and eggs collected. Her suggestion is to try short protocol with menopur next time. She said on paper long protocol should be best for me but suspects I might produce better quality eggs on short protocol. She was quite nice and did take time to explain things. However she did give us quite a hard time about testing early and was reluctant to refer to our loss as a loss (god knows what it was then even though pregnancy and miscarriage was confirmed by EPU) DH was brilliant though as he asked her what her reasons where against early testing. She could only come up with false positives due to trigger shot and that some people stop the suppositories too early if it's negative.
He responded that we fully understood the risks of false positives/negatives, he appreciated her opinion but that it is our decision when to test. He also told her he disagreed with their testing policy as it is a good 4 days longer than most clinics. She then said well you obviously know what your doing! I completely forgot to ask her about immune tests but I'm sure she would have said we don't need it as she seemed unwilling to talk about our miscarriage anyway.

So I can request on AF which is due in about 10 days but I'm sure it will be a no due to Xmas closures. I can still request over Christmas when the next AF is due. I just leave a message and make sure not to have unprotected sex (ha!!) until someone contacts us.

Sorry for an epic post and all the IVF language but I know the ivf brookers will want the full details!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/11/2013 12:44

Oh Cups this all sounds so very positive. Are you feeling more positive? Good on MrC for standing up and speaking out. I totally agree with him. Brooking so hard you get accepted ASAP. My clinic is the same with regard to losses. They won't count anything a pregnancy till it has been confirmed with a scan. I'm not sure why they do this. I'm so pleased you've got a good plan going forward. And hopefully the short protocol won't be as tough physically x

Musical I'm ok thanks. Just very grateful that the meds are working for me Smile

ControlGeek · 12/11/2013 12:52

too what tests are you using?

cups well done on getting through your appointment. That review one is a bitch. I'm so pleased you have a plan, and am brooking for a really early acceptance. If our consultant was anything to go by, raising immunes before the consultants raise it is a waste of time. They're either fully on board with it all, so suggest it from quite early on, or are non-believers and won't put you forward for it until you've had a number of failed attempts. Good on your DH for sticking to his guns on the 'early' testing. It wasn't early at all - my clinic puts OTD at 14dpEC. How are you feeling about it all now?

musical if nobody else comes forward, it will be the brooker I send my entire surplus to!!! Sorry you're already having ups and downs about TTC, you've been through enough already so my Christmas list to the universe is for early, easy BFPs for every brooking TTCer.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/11/2013 12:56
NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 12/11/2013 13:10

I am feeling more positive thanks Geek and Maybe. I think trying short protocol is a good idea but obviously I'm aware that it may not be right for us either. I think if it doesn't work I'll be thinking about donor eggs when we come to our private goes.

I was so pleased DH spoke up as he's so eloquent and well spoken that people always take him seriously. I tested at 13dp3dt! As if that is too early!! She also mentioned that we should be careful about reading "crazy" articles that might not be accurate. He said to her "I completely agree. As I'm sure your aware from our notes I'm a scientist and my wife is a nurse so we are well aware of what information is reliable" If I had said something like that I would have come off as defensive but he managed to sound really reasonable.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 12/11/2013 13:13

Of course I'm not complaining about skipping the down reg as I can't say I enjoyed that part (sorry Geek!) Smile

musicalmrs · 12/11/2013 13:30

Cups that does sound lovely and positive :) How wonderful that DH spoke up too. Also brooking for quick acceptance!

Geek my Christmas list is the same. Plus for manageable IVF/ICSI/all over types of assisted brooking cycles there are (I don't know as much about them as I should, even after following this thread all this time!), and for lots of happy dividing, embedding embies :)

Stacks thanks for the BFing information. That makes me feel more positive! I was feeding DD 1/2 times a day (bedtime, sometimes nap time), though since her recent bout of illness a couple of night feeds have crept back. Need to wean her back off of them, but she's still got molars pushing through so is very unsettled... I don't think she's getting much milk either, more of a comfort thing (which I'm absolutely fine with, if it doesn't affect my fertility too much!).

musicalmrs · 12/11/2013 13:37

Oh, weight wise Stacks I'm 44kg. I was a few more before ttc DD. The nurse was worried as it's underweight (though I was before, and I was steady at 44kg before I went to university, so it's not as if it's unheard of for me!). DH worries it might affect me too. I'm eating more cake.. Wink
