I'm asking on behalf of my sister.

She is 39. Has one child who is 10 years old conceived several months after FINISHING a Clomid cycle.

New partner now who is in the armed forces and only comes home every 4 months. Been together for less than a year.
She has been to infertility clinic and IVF is not an option due to her age.

She has been told that after bloods etc that Clomid will be the route to take.

What are the chances of pregnancy?(given the fact that she has never used any contraceptives and never fallen pregnant other than with her 10 year old.)
Also I'm curious, is Clomid a very nasty drug to take when the only time of possible conception is every 4 months? Would they really prescribe it knowing this?

Thanks, sister can't remember anything 10 years on.
