unusual pregnancy test result ... any advice?

Hi hoping someone might be able to help

I randomly decided to take a pregnancy test yesterday ... just felt the urge! And got a strange result. Two faded lines, but the test line was more of a curve and blurred. The control line was perfect oblong but faint with a darker area on one side. Anyway..as we haven't been trying. .. the test strips are way out of date and I couldnt believe the result. So I bought an expensive digital one today and got a negative.

Im going crazy waiting! ! Sure most can empathaise with that feeling.
Just cant get out my head that its a false positive result as old and cheap test dtick.
I know I have to wait... just wondered if anyone else had experiened a curved faded blurry line?

Sounds like an evaporation line on the cheap test but if in doubt wait a couple of days then retest.

Waitings the hard part! Due on tomorrow so should have an answer soon. My head says its false...my heart says its positive! Lol x

Five days overdue. Five more bfp negatives. Feeling the pressure!

I know how you feel. I was due on 12th September and still nothing. I have been good and only tested twice cos don't want to get my hopes up. My head also says not pregnant but my heart says I am.

Hey Nappyaddict, any news yet?? I did get my hopes up despite all efforts not too...but 7 days overdue and AF came :-( lol knew I shoulnt have so early but couldn't resist!! Anyway hoping you have better news? Got everything crossed for you xx hugs xx

CD41 and still nothing here. Haven't tested since CD 38 and not planning on doing so again until CD70 (my longest cycle to record) I am sure I must just have a missed period like last time this happened.

CD 46 now and still no AF.

I have a bit of what I think is heartburn but I have had that in the past and it hasn't meant anything. I am especially tired - slept 11 hours last night and was still exhausted when I woke up and had to drag myself out of bed, but again I generally am tired as I have an underactive thyroid.

Last time I had a 70 day cycle I tested lots and it drove me mad. All those 5 minute waits to see if another line would appear. In that period of time I kept hoping I was just one of those people who didn't produce much hormone. Every test was another 5 minute wait, slightly raising my hopes a bit more that this was the time another line might appear.

This time, although in the back of my mind I am hoping it means I am pregnant, I keep reminding myself that I've been here before and it's probably just another missed period. The less tests I take, the less chances there are to raise my hopes a bit more.

True, I could never cope with the emotions behind waiting... too excitable! Tiredness and heartburn two good signs though. :)

I don't think we will conceive again now, been trying on and off for a few years and i've hit 40 - and just got a lovely new stressful job, so chances are slim. Think we will stick to celebrating others new arrivals and spoiling them instead now!

You never know. Apparently the best way to fall pregnant is to have sex 3 times a week. You can do it either every 2 days or if you find like me you are too busy and tired in the week, once mon-thurs, twice fri-sun.

True... every two days around fertile time is what we were trying to do. DH really wants another baby....im not convinced we will.... think this last month threw me a bit....so guess will have to wait and see what fate brings us!
