Preseed & similar products: what do they do? Do they work?

Er, just that, really!

DH and I have various complicating factors with ttc: he has erectile dysfunction, I have a retroverted cervix, and I may (sob) have a defective luteal phase. So I am trying everything possible to help!!

Will preseed actually do anything? Or is it just hype?

Hiya. Have you tried taking vitamin b6 to lengthen your luteal phase? As for preseed, this is used when a woman does not produce much ewcm and therefore provides mucus for sperm to travel and survive in in place of ewcm. It's worth a try but obviously isn't designed to help any of your issues.

Hi Vjones I don't get much E.W.C.M. Infact I hardly get any discharge. Can you buy preseed over the counter or does it need to be prescribed. x

Vjones - not strictly true. I got plenty of ewcm but still used preseed as it aids the sperms motility. I got pregnant second cycle which was the first time using it.

Perhaps that could have been better worded then. But I believe it can be bought online? Try searching Amazon.

Hi. I have tried pre-seed and conceive plus and I think they both do the same job really (provide a bit of extra for the sperm to swim in). I don't seem to get much CM and I don't get EWCM around ovulation and it also just generally helps as a fertile friendly lubricant. I prefer conceive plus in individual applicators which you get from Amazon just for convenience sake and (sorry if TMI) you can get it up right my your cervix without too much faff. You can get conceive plus in a tube from the bigger boots. Brace yourself though - it is not cheap! Shock. Don't know if it actually helps but as I conceived using it (sadly miscarried) so I know it doesn't hinder and frankly I am willing to try anything that might help! Grin

Good luck

Thanks all. We got given some by a friend who conceived using it - she had the individipual sachets and was done with them - but I didn't know if it really did all that much. Will give it a go next month!

We got the conceive plus in the tubes (luckily while on offer in boots) and really liked it. We conceived a couple of months after we started using it. Not sure if it had anything do with the conceive plus, but it does make it feel really good (if you don't use to much) in fact we are still using it now at 11 weeks pg just as a lube! Grin
