Hi all, I've got my bfp but can't see a doctor until Friday so wondered if anyone can help me with my dates.

My last period started on 26th July. Then lots of dtd and no period since. I took 5 hpts, all with bfns. Finally got my bfp on cd49, when I was 20 days late for af. Did a digital test and it said I was 1-2 weeks, but not sure if this is accurate or not.

I've read that doctors date your pregnancy back to your last period, this would mean that I'm 6 weeks?

Does anyone have any idea as I'm confused!

Thanks. X

It sounds like you ovulated late. The Dr will date from last period but if you explain that you're not sure they might refer you for a dating scan. Tbh, I wouldn't bother. You'll get a 12 weeks scan anyway, when you will probably be 10 weeks. So they'll give you a second a few weeks later so they can do the things they need to do.

Unless you want an early scan in which case milk it.

Thanks for the quick reply. So if they date it from my last period, that means I could be 7 weeks now and 8 weeks by the time I go to the docs. Wow!

What's a dating scan? Is it the same as a normal 12 week scan but used to determine your dates?

Sorry but I'm pretty clueless as this is my first.

The 12 week scan and Dating scan are one and the same Smile
I have got mine tomorrow morning and can't wait!

As has been said, explain your cycle to your doctor, much like you have in your thread and see what he suggests. Until your scan they won't be able to accurately tell you how far along you are.....how exciting!!

Congratulations! X x
