Has anyone had success with acupuncture for unexplained fertility?

Not exactly, but I'm having it to try and regulate my cycles and prevent another MC...

I'm intending to try acupuncture in my next cycle. Not sure how much help it will be as I'm regular in my cycle & ovulate every month....

hayley I'm generally not the sort of person to go for this type of thing but after 2 1/2 years of ttc (told unexplained infertity until 4 weeks ago when they finally said I had multicystic ovaries), we decided to give acupuncture a go to support my first cycle of iui.

I was so skeptical at first but actually I found to be the breath of fresh air I was desperate for. She was so knowledgable about fertility, actually listened to me (unlike the fc) and was extremely reassuring. If by any chance you live in the west mids, I give you her details.

I've no idea whether it was the acupuncture or the iui (prob the latter haha) but I'm very proud to say that this week I FINALLY got my bfp Grin

Hi Hayley I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility (even though I have PCOS) and after ttc 3.5yrs and about to go down the route of IVF and following some acupuncute treatments, I got my first BFP. I'd been having reflexologly throughout the ttc process which helped my swinging hormones but everyone had recommended acupuncture so I tried it (even though I didn't particularly enjoy the process).

Sadly I had a mmc at 12wks and have had 2 more mc's since over the last 18 months. After mc 1 and 2 I held off going back for acupuncture for a few months but only now looking back do I realise that I had the next BFP following each acupuncture session. After my 3rd mc (and tests to find out why I mc) I had acupuncture straight away and had a bfp after the 1st cycle after mc.

I'm no expert but I definately think that it has helped me/my body to deal with stress (not that I'd say I'm a stress head) and when I looked into fertility clinics/miscarriage clinics a number of them do recommend acupuncture alongside traditional treatment.

I had acupuncture before conceived ds, but more because it was something I was doing for other reasons so when we decided too try she popped needles in elsewhere, I have also seen v good reflexologist and actually prefer the rreflexology but think either might help you. I can give you numbers of acpucturist in chichester area and reflexologist in portsmouth/ iow or haslemere areas. All three are lovely and I think part of experience is someone dedicating time to your care, gps and mws are good but have such time pressures!

Not exactly unexplained infertility in our case but I had PCOS and endometriosis along with extremely heavy & irregular periods. I had an initial course of 4 treatments, once a fortnight, along with some really foul smelling herbal teas (which I only had a few of cos they were rank!). By this time my periods settled and my endo symptoms had largely disappeared.

I continued to have the treatments every 4/6 weeks and by the time we actively started ttc fell pregnant in the first month! Quite apart from the physical effects I found it extremely soothing which definitely helps. Good luck!
