I'm fit and relatively healthy...but I'm 34 (nearly 35). What can I do to help my chances of conceiving (at start of cycle 3)?

Hi, I read that you are meant to dtd every second day, particularly during the middle weeks of the cycle. That's what we did last time when we conceived ds.

I also have had friends who have had success after making lifestyle changes like cutting back on vigorous exercise (they had been going for long jogs most days) and also when both partners started giving up or cutting down on alcohol.

If you had a stressful lifestyle (long work hours, emotional stress etc) if would probably be worth trying to make some changes there as well.

I don't think your age would play a factor at all, you wouldn't ven be considered an older mother until 35, unless there is a family history if early menopause.

Good luck Flowers

BD every other day! Try to track your temp also. I've heard that you may benefit from reducing caffeine, but I find it really hard

We were trying to conceive this time last year 4 cycles and nothing, I was using opk's. We decided to take a few months break (3) then started to try again in Jan this last year I also 34, I was relaxed about it and geared myself for at least 6-9 months to get lucky, fortunately it happened first time around and I'm due in 4 weeks.

Best advice don't stress about it, I know that's really tough when you really want your bfp but I swear the extra pressure and stress can hinder things. I didn't temp as I could never fathom it out, just used cheap opk's and dtd every other day in my 5 day fertile period.

Good Luck, it will happen so relax and enjoy feeling good etc, as soon as you get that bfp your life changes so much, make the most of your carefree days now. Oh and I never stopped drinking btw Smile
