(I can't exactly tell anyone in real life so I'll write it down here)

AF arrived today and my sister announced yesterday that she is getting married mid June 2014 which would be my due date if I was lucky enough to conceive. The wedding is 4 hours away from where we live so I don't think it's worth the 9 months of worry about whether we could make it or not and I'd be devastated to miss it for my sister.

Thrilled for her but disappointed that I've to skip an entire cycle when I've already been trying for a few months already Sad
Everyday already feels like a lifetime when you're ttc obsessed!

Oh no! How frustrating for you!!

My due date falls 4 days after the wedding of my husband's best friend. Their Wedding is about about a 2 hour drive away and due to me having health problems and a high risk pregnancy I have told my husband that I'm not going to go - the last thing I want is to go into labour miles from my hospitals and specialists. My husband completely understands and says he won't go either because he will need to be with me in case labour starts. The problem is that my husband is the Best Man. Eek.

We haven't told the couple yet, we are telling them after my 12 week scan next week.

We feel awful - we got pregnant on our first month of trying and it didn't occur to us that it would happen that fast otherwise we may have took their wedding into consideration when planning on TTC.

I really feel for you, what a horrible situation. I really hope you get your BFP soon. Are you being a bridesmaid for your sister?? My best friend was 6 months pregnant at my wedding and she was my bridesmaid, and pregnant bridesmaids always look gorgeous!!

Ah OP that's a shame. Is it definitely that month, has she booked it?

Maybe it'll be good for you to have a month off from the waiting, wishing and angst of TTC?
And you can be back on it next month refreshed and eager, with the hope of a lovely bump to show off at the wedding!

Good luck

Thank you for sympathetic replies, I know it's not really a huge deal compared some real problems out there!

Best of luck with your scan writer and congratulations on your pregnancy! I probably sound very mean but if it was a friend of mine or dh I would probably ttc this month, but not immediate family. Don't feel awful and I hope you will be well. I hadn't even thought of bridesmaid but it will be a very very small wedding anyway.

princesskitKat you might be right about a month off, I actually need to lose some weight so it may be for the best and I love the idea of the bump in a fab dress! Yes the wedding is booked.

I think that's a brilliant idea! Set yourself a little baby-fit challenge for the month you're not TTC.

You could set a few realistic goals for the month (eg. Loose 6lb, exercise/ gym 10 times and drink more water), then it's absolutely not a 'wasted' cycle and you will be even more positive and prepared for your BFP! Smile

What Travelin said.

There's a much greater chance of getting to 39-41 weeks though.
Anyway, I wouldn't like my actual due date coinciding with the wedding date as I know it would cause stress for my sister over the next few months so really I've already decided to wait the 4 weeks.

The way I'm talking you'd think I was guaranteed to conceive this month anyway!

It's Sods Law that you would Grin x

RaRaZ · 06/09/2013 17:32

Is it your first baby? If so, I believe they're normally overdue....but as Writer says, Sod's Law dictates that if you plan to go to the wedding and you're due 4 weeks after, your baby will make a surprise early appearance, possibly in the car, but potentially during the vows for maximum effect.
