Hi, I'm currently in cycle 3 of ttc. came off the pill in May and had 2 perfect 28 day cycles.

This time I am currently on cd43, 14 days overdue and I've had 5 bfns. Has anyone else had this?

It's so frustrating as I don't know if it's just a long cycle or wondering if there is a chance I could still be pregnant but then I don't understand why tests wouldn't show it.

If I'm pregnant then I just wish af would hurry up so I can get on with it.

It could your body still adjusting to coming off the pill, if you think you still may be pg try again in a few days.

When did you last test? Some women take a while to get a BFP (two weeks past AF, in my case), but I wouldn't ordinarily expect it to take much longer than two weeks....unless you're one of the few women who doesn't metabolise HCG into their urine at all, in which case you'd need a blood test to determine pg.

How long were you on the Pill for? Some women take months to settle down and have regular cycles again, so it might just be that. I know you had two nice 28-day cycles, but I've read a few posts from women on here whose cycles have lengthened over the first few months of being off the Pill.

Shoegal, it may just be your cycle settling down into it's natural rhythm. I came off the pill in January after being on it for 12 years and since my cycle has gradually got longer and now has settled on 37 days(!).

If AF doesn't appear in the next week maybe get checked out by your GP just to put your mind at rest.

Thanks everyone. I was on the pill for 13 years so seems as though I'm just having a long cycle. I'm going on hol tomorrow for a week so will try not to think about it and then consider seeing docs if still nothing when I get back.

Not happened to me but my friend that is TTC came off the pill and had a couple of periods but then they just stopped. She got to nearly 100 days with no period or BFP. She went to docs who put her back on the pill for a month to kick start her period which did work and she seems to have settled into a cycle now.

I had a normal cycle of 28 days and then in feb this year I got a 39 day cycle followed by a 40 day cycle. Both times I thought I was pregnant. Tested every couple of days but bfn's each time. Kept telling myself I am one of those people who get a positive late. But af always showed herself in the end.

Turns out got my bfp on the day my period was due. Totally unexpected after seeing so many negatives.

I know every part of you wants this to be a bfp and I don't want to dishearten you. But its good to not get to carried away. Fingers crossed it will be a bfp. Have a fab holiday.

Thanks, trying not to worry about it. oh keeps asking me about it as well now which makes it harder!

Been getting some funny pains today but guessing it could be one of three things -

  1. I'm pregnant
  2. I'm about to get af
  3. I'm ovulating

it remains a mystery but let's hope it's the first!
