I am looking for a little bit of advice. I firstly want to say, that I understand that some people on this area of MN are obviously vv keen to conceive, and some maybe having some issues.

I REALLY hope this thread therefore isn't that crass, and I really don't want to offend. Please tell me to take this thread elsewhere if this isn't appropriate.

Ok, I have 2 dc, ages 5 and 3. I can't remember much at all about conceiving either of them...

Last week (mid cycle) DH and I dtd without contraception (long story). I got the morning afer pill and then we dtd again later that day (I know, I know, stupidity)

Anyway, so I would imagine my ovulation date would have been around last Monday/Tuesday and we dtd Wednesday and Thursday.

Today I have had spotting, but it's very dark brown and not a proper period, and doesn't seem to be turning into one.

I also feel nauseous.

I obviously can't test yet, but I'm wondering what the chances are that these symptoms are morning after pill side effects, and what chance they are early pregnancy signs? The nausea only really started today...

Studies have shown its almost impossible to conceive if you dtd after ovulation, the egg only survives for 12 hours ish but the sperm needs to be ready and waiting. So I'd say its highly unlikely you are pg unless you have your dates wrong. Even if you do, the morning after pill should do the trick. It's really far too early to have nausea due to pregnancy as well, you'd need a couple of weeks before that kicks in. I think you're probably ok

I don't know exactly when I ovulated - last period was either 17th/18th August (can't exactly remember) and I vaguely remembered from my previous pregnancies that I used to ov around day 10. But I wasn't looking for signs or anything so it really is just a guess that it was that time.

If day 1 was 17th then 14 days in would have been Friday of last week - the day after I took the morning after pill and we dtd.

But if I didn't ov til last Friday there is no way I'd be having pg symptoms this early. It must be side effects from the pill.
