Advice needed from regular IC OPK users

Hello

I've successfully used CB advanced OPKs, but because of the extortionate prices, want to seen myself off them!

This month zi decided to use IC OPKs along side CB Advanced, so that I could learn to read them properly.

So, I know it's against the instructions, but I have been using them with FMU along with my CB advanced as it was easier than taking them into work with me.
However, despite this - they seemed to work clearly. By this I mean, I had no line at all when CB advanced showed negative or high readings, and the two days I got Peak reading on CB advanced, I got a clear dark line on the IC OPKs.
So all made sense.

I also temp, and my temps didnt rise, so I didn't ovulate. I'm hoping my body will try to ovulate again, and so have continued to use IC OPKs each morning. All have not shown a line yet.

However, this afternoon, for the first time, I used one (about 4pm). I didn't drink for a couple of hours before and didnt go to the toilet either (as per the instructions).

I got a clear line, almost as strong as the control line, but quite as dark.

However as its my first afternoon test, I am not sure how to read it.
Do you think this might mean my LH is rising again? Or I am seeing this line as LH is always present in our systems?

If its a second surge, then I want to ensure we dtd tonight to take advantage. I don't want to wake tomorrow to a rise in my bbt and be annoyed we missed this opportunity. But if its a normal reading for this time of day then I won't push DH tonight and instead wait until we feel the urge IYKWIM. (Fingers crossed I won't have to decide and the urge will coincide with the rig time anyway!)

What do you think? Previously it's been easy as I had a dark strong line, or no line at all. Thoughts on this afternoons reading?

I would guess second surge. I found my cheaply OPKs were accurate regardless of the time of day that I used them. Suspect you will get a positive in the morning.
The tiny amount of LH that's normally in your system wouldn't give you a line anywhere near as dark as the control (and for most people won't register at all).

Oh and remember that you will O approx 12 to 36 hours after the peak of LH so the likelihood of a temp rise as soon as the morning after a not quite positive test is unlikely (unless you missed the full positive this morning or overnight and what you saw this afternoon was the fall of LH after the peak)

I agree! Do remember though that you ovulate within 12-48 after a positive, and you'll usually get the bbt rise the day after.

Thanks Merkin.

Yes - hopefully this means I'll get a positive again tomorrow morning and them temp rise more likely Friday.

Guess it looks like I need to find a way to pounce on DH later! Grin

Thanks Blue.

I am excited I might ovulate (having consoled myself I wouldn't)!
My mood swings from high to low so quickly it's ridiculous!

Temp rise of 0.47 c this morning. So I guess if it stays high the next two days this might be ov!
I got a negative opk this morning. but another strong one (like yesterday) at 12nn today.

Unfortunately didn't dtd last night - so even if I ovulated today/tonight we'd need a miracle! ov minus 5 does not a baby make! Boo!

I'm annoyed that random injuries keep preventing us dtd! Smile
