Hi everyone,

I'm 28 and DH is 31, we got married in April and I came off the pill then but we have been using condoms. We decided to start TTC in August, and using an iPhone app I worked out I'd probably be ovulating around 20th Aug. We DTD on the 17th and the 21st (and other times too! But I mean I think it must've been one of those times that was successful). I began the 2WW and tried to spot symptoms but didn't feel I had any. Did a pregnancy test at 10dpo and got a BFN then waited until this morning, when I was 13dpo and the day AF due and did a test and got a BFP! It was one with a cross showing up, so I really want to do the type where it says "pregnant" or "not pregnant" and the weeks (although I know I'll literally only be 2 weeks), will do that tomorrow morning.

I am a primary school teacher and today was my first day back so it softened the blow of returning to school!

What do I do need to do now!? I know it is very early days! I have bought some folic acid and digital test to do tomorrow morning. When do I need to see my GP? And what threads should I join on here!? Smile

I think you should see your GP asap and take folic acid immediately as ideally you're meant to start taking it three months before conceiving. Can I ask, have your cycles been weird since coming off the pill? And congratulations!

Thanks V! Eek, really- 3 months before! Well I have just taken two folic acid tablets and one omega 3 capsule with my tea so going in the right direction now!

My periods were always fairly light and generally regular on the pill (been on it over 15 years), and since coming off they've stayed light and mostly regular- a couple of times I came on one or two days later than my app predicted I would. It generally lasts for only 3-4 days and I think I worked out my cycle was 26-27 days (hence being 13dpo but AF due day).

Ah right, that's good then. I ask because I have been off it for a month and in cycle one my luteal phase was only 7 days :( But am trying to stay positive that it will correct itself now.

Fingers crossed for you Smile x
