Hi

I'm very new to all of this so sorry if this is a big 'wordy'

I came of the pill in July and has my usually withdrawal bleed with lasted 6 days as usual.

We are trying for a baby so got down to it but then 5 days later started bleeding again. I assumed this was my first proper period and it had just come earlier than I had expected it to.

This lasted 4 days and was very heavy. We started trying again but then a week later started to bleed again. This is confining to happen. I have a bleed, it lasts about 4 days, I get all the usually symptoms of a period then it happens again a week later.

Is this normal? Should i go to the doctors? I have seen from other threads lots of people wait months for a period but I'm bleeding every week? Thanks- good to
get it off my chest. X

Hi Gamesby, I'm one of those who waited ages for a period after the pill. I went to the GP who told me to wait until 6 months had passed. However, in your case, I think I would see the GP. It must be really annoying for you to bleed every week and maybe the GP can give you answers.

Thanks for your reply!

Yep I think that's the only I'm going to feel better about it all.

I initially felt quite pleased when I thought I was having my first real period but now Im not sure what's going on

Lots of websites I've looked on say things like 'it takes 6 months for your hormones to settle down' so I was thinking about waiting to see if I all settles and I get into more of a regular pattern

God! It's either nothing at all or bleeding all the time lol

I think you should see a doctor. It can take a while for your cycle to settle down but in this case, you are bleeding a lot and I would get it checked out.

Any such changes need to be reported to the GP. Bleeding like this is not normal at all.
