Arrrgghh! I've missed 2 AF's in a row and getting BFN's. I've bought a CBFM but can I use it if I don't have AF? How do I know if I'm ovulating?

You spend all your teenage years being told sex = pregnant. No it BLOODY doesn't!!

Needed to rant...sorry!

Go to the doc. On rare occasions people are pregnant but it doesn't show on a home preg test. But even if you are not pregnant I think your doc should be investigating where AF has gone

iwantalittleone · 30/08/2013 15:20

I went and he told me to come back if I miss 3 in a row. He didn't even consider a blood test or any sort of test! It's just so frustrating, pregnant people everywhere it feels like!

I would book an appointment with a different GP if I were you, that's not great from your doctor

blamber · 01/09/2013 10:26

It depends on the circumstances. Where you regular before? Did you just come off the pill?

cookielove · 01/09/2013 14:21

Oh wow, 2 in a row that must be really frustrating

When would your next period be due?

How long have you been trying?

Its good to rant, sometimes you need to get it out of your system, especially when you are surrounded by pregnant women, who seem to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat!

Is there another GP you can see?

iwantalittleone · 03/09/2013 22:08

Hi all, sorry for the delay and thanks for your replies.

Blamber - I came off the pill in May, had normal periods may and june but nothing for the past two.

Cookielove - AF was due on 28th aug, still nothing but BFN's! I go to the GP I have always been with but I have moved to a different town now so maybe time to find a new one.

I am keeping an eye on my CM in the hope that I see some positive signs, I have some ovulation test sticks to pee on but don't know when I should be using them! Am I meant to wait for a period?

Sorry I missed your reply!

Have you had a period yet?

VJONES1985 · 15/09/2013 12:14

Hiya. Normally you should start using opks on cd6 but as you don't know when cd6 is, you can start using them whenever. It won't hurt after all. Bit deffo see a doctor asap. Good luck.

Hi cookie, still no period, no BFP, no signs of ovulation. I'm feeling very disheartened at the moment Sad

Oh no! So it must be coming up to three missed af's now. Definitely time to go back to the dr's.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 18/09/2013 16:08

Irregular periods are often caused by hormonal imbalances; in this respect a condition called polycystic ovaries is often to blame. This can cause periods to cease or become irregular in nature.

No point whatsoever in using the CBFM because there is no menstrual cycle. Also such things are of no benefit if the cycle is irregular.

iwantalittleone · 19/09/2013 21:01

Yes cookie, coming up to three, so will be off to the docs in a couple of weeks.

Attila - I bought the CBFM when I got my first period after coming off the pill, thinking that all was fine and I'd been lucky to slip back into the regular cycles I had before I started taking the pill.
