Pregnancy test results

I took a pregnancy test 8 days after ovulation and in the test area was pink and cloudy and the control area was blank, does this mean it's a positive result? About 20 mins later and after drinking a bottle of water I had a negative result, which is the most reliable result?

Sounds like a dodgy test to me. Try again in the morning? :)

It means the test was faulty

Thanks all! I've been fretting all day over it, most websites have been saying its positive coz the pink appeared in 5 min time frame, I'm extreamly nervous/ excited!
