Expecto Patronum

If you are you over 30 and have been ttc for over 12 months, are witch like or even better a complete hag and willing to abuse your powers of wizardry to conjure up gin by the bucket load, then fill out the Beshionnaire and join us if you dare in our battle against BESH curse.

I like a halibut, funny creatures that they are.

Just had call from clinic - no embryos are suitable for freezing. But some of them had moved on, so there is a possibility that the transferred ones have done likewise. You never know.

Draf remember that embies have a much better chance of thriving in the womb, more chance than outside it. Got everything crossed for you. IOTO.

Gad to hear it Bugs, sometimes just chatting to an independent person can make the world of difference.

FizzyFeet · 02/10/2013 20:20

Glad your counsellor was good, bugs, and that you are feeling so much better. I have started going to a woo massage lady who is so lovely and positive. Much better than the counsellor who I wanted to thump!

Question for ivf-ers: do all the drugs need to be kept in the fridge? We might be away when they are due to be delivered so am having a bit of a paddy about timings and storage!

Where's our newbie? We could do with some fresh BESH now that we've for another differ in our ranks! lems how are you doing? Will you get an early scan at all?

JethroTull · 02/10/2013 22:27

Fizz I only had to keep the trigger shot injection in the fridge. Kept the rest out in a little bag the clinic provided.

cherrycoconut · 02/10/2013 22:46

That sounds like good progress bugs, glad to hear it. The bit about living mindfully and in each moment is a lesson for us all. Draf what will be will be. All life is a fragile miracle and it's our courage that gets us through. Hopefully you have a couple of fighters in there that are giving it their best.

Anyone heard from bear recently?

FrankelInFoal · 03/10/2013 07:07

Fizz I had to keep all my drucks in the fridge but they were delivered in a polystyrene box with an ice pack so they will keep cool in their packaging for hours.

Oh poor you Bugs. What have you got?
I've caught this cold thing that is doing the rounds - glasses of OJ and paracetamol for me!

Morning people!ok so this has taken me some time to find (hope it's the right one)....

  1. do you like gin?
Absabloodylutely! We have a gin collection we are building from small distilleries we keep finding. By far the best is monkey 47 and fever tree (we got the gin from amazon but they sell it in Harvey nicks I think)

  2. men-are you a cradle snatcher, gold digger or cougar?
I would like to say I was a gold digger but DH is poor, looks like I married for love, damn him! It's my birthday in two weeks and his is Christmas Eve so technically I am a cradle snatcher by about 8 weeks.

3)babee making- which hole do you use?
It appears none work so any holes a goal!

  1. testing- when someone wonders whether they should test you for pg do you a) bellow poas at them and then punch them in the kidneys until they wet themselves or b) sprinkle them with baby dust and send them hugs and kisses on angel wings
    Definitely A

  2. is r2d2? A) an adorable robot from star wars or b) the root of all evil?
I'm going a as I don't know the other meaning

6)what colour are your walls?
We moved in two years ago and have only decorated the kitchen and spare room. They are mushroom (basically cream!) DH needs to pull his finger out and crack on and stop building pizza ovens!

  1. pets?
No household ones but I have pigs, chickens and bees, love them all nom nom nom!

  2. inappropriate crush of shame?
James corden, I love him!!!!! (Slightly stalker!)

  3. lesbian crush?
Lady Mary from Downton, I just want to be her!

10)what are your views on camping?
LOVE it! Apart from the time I got so drunk I needed to be sick in the night so I got up to go to the toilet and fell over 4 people's guy ropes, I had to pretend it must have been a badger the next day!

  1. how much money have you spent on sticks you then wee on? I dread to think from the years that I was at school and was on the pill but had antibiotics (what an idiot!) to trying to get a stupid smiley faces from ovulation test to these stupid pg tests I could be in the Caribbean by now I expect.

Hope that was all of them, thanks for welcoming me x

evilgiraffe · 03/10/2013 07:54

Aww, it's not fun to have a bug, bugs (see what I did there?)

Fizz, I had to keep all my drucks (barring the pessaries) in the fridge, but that was largely down to the insanely hot weather making room temp too hot. The stimming and trigger needed to be at 2-8 degrees until I used them (at which point they're good at room temp for 28 days), but the downregging drucks just needed to be between 2-25 degrees. As Frank points out though, they're delivered with ice packs and a shitload of insulation. They have to be signed for though, they won't leave them on your doorstep.

Your BESHtionnaire looks good to me, llw. I say you're in. Largely because you're COVERED IN BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES Grin Grin Grin Oh, and have you tried Leopold's gin? It's small batch American, and is fantastic.

Oh Bugs, that's not fun. Have a duvet day. I prescribe a day on the sofa with chocolate and chicken soup.

Hello Liw, I'm Frankel. More of a lurker these days as I'm currently 18 weeks diffed after 3 years of trying. This is the nicest bunch of Hags you are likely to find, they'll keep you sane and keep you up to your eyes in fish/gin. Welcome aboard Grin

Draf how are you feeling today?

evilgiraffe · 03/10/2013 08:14

I once scratched the back of a pregnant sow. She was clearly itchy, trying to scratch herself, but a metal gate made of smooth tubes is not very satisfying. She was enormous too, it would have been impossible to lie of her back and manage it that way. So I reached through and scratched her back and she went stock still and her ears went all floppy :) It's amazing sometimes how animals and people are exactly the same.

FizzyFeet · 03/10/2013 08:17

You'll do, llw Smile

Tell us a bit about yourself and your journeeee.

I'm Fizzy, I'm 32 and ttc since November 2010. Had one mmc, two ectopics and now no tubes left. About to start ivf if next scan goes ok - last one showed a monster cyst and the ovarian reserve of an oap so who knows? Am married to GFBW (green fingered book worm, named after weekend pursuits).

evilgiraffe · 03/10/2013 08:18

Alright, thanks, Frank. My brain is going "come on come on come on" all the time...

FrankelInFoal · 03/10/2013 08:22

Totally normal Draf, I found myself talking to the potential embryo telling it to fight Blush

evilgiraffe · 03/10/2013 08:22

Oh yes, it's time to share tales of woe fun with TTC stories. I'm draf, married to the inestimable HOTB (him on the bike), both of us are 30, though not for much longer. TTC since January 2010, finally got a severe endometriosis diagnosis in May after surgery to remove a fallopian tube. Have been on hormone drugs ever since, culminating in IVF - currently in the 2ww of our first cycle.

Llw2 · 03/10/2013 08:24

Haven't tried Leopolds but I'm on it now!

evilgiraffe · 03/10/2013 08:26

It's good shit, it's pretty much my favourite aside from Tanqueray.
