Expecto Patronum

If you are you over 30 and have been ttc for over 12 months, are witch like or even better a complete hag and willing to abuse your powers of wizardry to conjure up gin by the bucket load, then fill out the Beshionnaire and join us if you dare in our battle against BESH curse.

Not too bad thanks Bugs. Had a little meltdown as had to test then ring the clinic first thing. Cried before, during and after. Still, is done now. A friend just popped over with flowers which was nice. I was saying to MATV last night I didn't really feel like seeing anyone this week, he was trying to coax me into letting someone come over but actually it was nice to talk about it all, did nearly cry a few times but it wouldn't really have mattered if I had.

evilgiraffe · 26/09/2013 15:01

Aww, rasp, it's so hard :( How's MATV holding up?

Last night HOTB dreamed that something went wrong during egg collection and they had to rush me into theatre, whereupon they did a caesarean and found a six-month-old version of our cat... Stress dream, much?!

Fortunately, no adorable ginger kittens were found in my innards, just fourteen eggs :) Should have a call around midday tomorrow to let us know how fertilisation goes.

RaspberrySnowCone · 26/09/2013 16:21

Oh he's ok Draf, he's a bit quiet. He's upset but trying not to show it. I'm getting lots of cuddles though so that's good :) poor HOTB having a dream like that! Weird how our minds work. MATV swears he never dreams but I'm sure he must.

Glad you're both doing alright, considering, rasp :)

I'm feeling fine, bugs, just a bit dopey from the sedation. Trying not to get anxious about how many fertilise!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 27/09/2013 11:15

Is there news, is there news? I am now getting excited for you draf! Although I hate all the waiting bits, so the phone calls were particularly bad. Although they didn't tell us a thing, until the day of ET. We read SB had to call to see whether it would go ahead. They just said, yes, come in then. And they told us about fertilisation and quality at the ET. Then they sent a letter telling us about the frosties which thankfully arrived pre-chem diffment menkul.

AFM still spotting, particularly after a rock solid poo Just had a word with myself, feeling better after spending my appraisal in tears yesterday and waking up at 6am to menkul... I think it might be a good day to bake apple pie. What do you think?

Btw the rest of you lot, still thinking of you too. Extra tight squeezes for rasp and dot.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 27/09/2013 11:16

Bugs no worries, I'll still post here, but the egg buddies is a bit much between cycles, I find. I can't live with you lot and there is always elsewhere Wink

Mmm, apple pie... Though it's a bit healthy, I'm living on frazzles and chocolate biscuits at the minute :)

Big news of the morning is we have eight fertilised eggs. Hopefully they will grow like troopers and be jockeying for position as "best embryo". Next phone call will be Sunday morning, transfer could be Sunday if one is clearly better than the rest, or Tuesday if there are several front-runners.

FrankelInFoal · 27/09/2013 19:28

Well done on 8 fertilized eggs Draf, keeping my fingers crossed for good news on Sunday.

We're at my parents for the weekend, and seeing HWHNN's dad for lunch tomorrow. It's the first time we've seen any of them since we announced the diffment.

We're at my parents for a brief weekend visit. We met up with HWHNN's dad for lunch and I'm feeling Sad for HWHNN as his dad didn't seem at all interested in asking about how things are with my pregnancy, despite it being the first grandchild on both sides. HWHNN is both Sad and Angry

MyNameIsWinkly · 28/09/2013 18:41

I don't think men are always bothered by pregnancies. It's all a bit abstract at this stage. When you're massive/when baybee comes there'll be something for him to get excited by.

I'm ok, took HWCA to the Warrior 10k today. ( I was meant to be doing it but diffment then mc put paid to my training.) Lovely day on the dunstable downs. Work tomorrow, boo.

RaspberrySnowCone · 28/09/2013 21:06

I don't think men get the excitement about pregnancy either Frank, especially older chaps. It is a bit disheartening though when just a bit of excitement would be nice, especially given how much you went through.

I been wallowing on the sofa. Ben made me go to tesco with him to get me out of the house so I bought a tesco curry and a box of matchmakers. I LOVE matchmakers.
Did a bit of house work, off to the parents for lunch tomorrow then off to see some pups after lunch. They are only 3 weeks old so we are only allowed to look and not play :( I'm more interested in seeing the parents at this point. If we like them we'll go back in three weeks when they are more active to chose one :)

SinkyMalinks · 28/09/2013 21:32

Oh, enjoy the pups rasp. A friend has just put pictures on fb of his new lab cross puppy he's rescued. Utterly cute. Hope the matchmakers and sofa wallowing means you're looking after yourself and being looked after.

CatsCantFlyFast · 29/09/2013 11:15

V jealous of matchmakers and puppies!

TravailsInHyperreality · 29/09/2013 11:23

Hullo loverly laydees! Lurking as always and sending positive ESH vibes towards yer wombles.

LauraPalmer · 29/09/2013 11:25

Duh. Accidental mystery post.

This should help.

evilgiraffe · 29/09/2013 15:21

Are you looking at puppies RIGHT NOW, rasp?!?! There better be pictures!

Phone call this morning went well - all eight embryos are still okay, six in good condition and two lagging behind. ET will be Tuesday morning. Eeep!

We're home again (at last), watching the men's road race world championships. All the Brits are out, there have been a few crashes and truly hideous weather, but it's still an exciting race! Pedal pedal pedal!

cherrycoconut · 29/09/2013 17:49

Just dropping in to make sure gin consumption is keeping up BESH. Must admit to sinking a couple with a lovely Sunday lunch today. That's acceptable right?! Off to the hospital soon to see sis and sober up with a cup of tea and a chat.

Whoop whoop draf that sounds great progress. Good little eggies doing their thing!

Rasp sorry to hear this one didn't go your way. Fingers crossed the wacky IVF odds game will come up trumps for you next time and you can get going again soon. Have you any embies in the freezer? Puppies sound the perfect antidote though, all wriggly, meeping cuteness. ROCH and I have already discussed getting a dog if this doesn't work out or even if it does, though he doesn't know it yet, mwah ha ha.

While we're at it can I just say how much I detest the term positively childless. makes me want to poke my eyes out with a stick and rescue hundreds of dogs and horses. This IVF lark better work for ROCH's sake and the fact we live in a very small cottage

How'd the show go Bugs?

RaspberrySnowCone · 29/09/2013 21:18

How's your sis doing Cherry?

So, I now own a puppy - a 5 week old chocolate cocker. He is gorgeous, big fat tummy but tiny and cute. Can't have him for a few weeks yet as he's to young but that will give me chance to fill the house with dog related crap!
