bugs if you feel an attack coming on, I recommend the breathing my yoga teacher used to get us to do: in for one, out for one, in for two, out for two, in for three, out for three and the carry on at three, trying to use your whole lungs. I've used this loads when I feel my anxiety levels rising and it does help to bring everything down a notch.

Can you go for a walk this morning? Some fresh air and alone time might help.

Yay Rasp, yay!

Cherry- thinking of you and squeezing your shoulder.

Bugs- glad that there were so many sensible people here to give you advice and that you got through it.

I had a hen do this weekend and had the inevitable questions. I did panic a bit but managed to fend them off. I can never think of the quips quickly enough.

RaspberrySnowCone · 15/09/2013 06:23

Right, best get up! Have to leave at 7.

Hope you enjoyed the wedding Bugs and don't feel too hung over today :)

Good luck rasp

RaspberrySnowCone · 15/09/2013 11:32

I'm home with an excellent quality embryo on board, in fact it hatched a little more as the embryologist showed it to us on the screen which was actually quite exciting. Didn't much like the transfer but in an emotional way rather than physical. My OTD isn't until 4th October!!! Bloody weeks away!

Great news Rasp, the key now is trying to keep yourself distracted for the next two weeks - easier said than done, but take it one day at a time.

RaspberrySnowCone · 15/09/2013 11:42

Distant for the next 19 days?! 19! How have they worked that out? It says 10/14 days after a blast transfer on the paperwork? I might ring and ask why so long. Don't mind necessarily but just wonder why so lon?

Officialdom and to fuck with your head obv. I suppose if you've not got the droid by day 19 it's pretty conclusive and "cheaper" for them iyswim.

Best of luck rasp - I'm crossing my legs in solidarity!

KatAndKit · 15/09/2013 11:56

19 days is a long time to wait! Are you not allowed to piss on any sticks in that time? I gather with ivf the drucks can interfere with piss sticks because they give you hcg or something like that? Anyway, with the natural method you can usually know for sure at 16 days post ovulation if you are pregnant, so that would be 12 days after blastocyst transfer? I suspect they just want you to wait long enough to be sure. Massive headfuck for you of course, but if you do get good news, you'd be the equivalent of nearly 5 weeks by then so you would be able to be more confident that you would be if you got good news at 3.5 weeks.

I have everything crossed for you and have sent you some finest BESH fanjo superglue.

FrankelInFoal · 15/09/2013 12:11

Hmm, yes 19 days is a long time, my OTD was 18 days after the trigger, which assumed 16 days after ovulation. Surely they have to take the first days of growth in the clinic into account which means you could test in less than 2 weeks? Not that I'm advocating early testing of course Wink

FrankelInFoal · 15/09/2013 12:13

Just adding to Kat, the FC told me that the HCG you take fades after about a week, so providing you don't test really early, or get told to take an additional dose to help things along you shouldn't get a false positive these days.

eurochick · 15/09/2013 14:06

My sensitive internet cheapies were still detecting some HCG about 10-11 days after trigger, but that was the end of it. Most of the other egg buddies had got rid of it before that time. I seem to metabolise hormone stuff slowly.

My clinic's OTD is 14 dpEC (by blood test). I've always tested at home around 12dpEC and got a faint positive then each time.

JethroTull · 15/09/2013 14:19

I waited until the day the clinic told me to test. Think it was 18.
